We’re not big fans of Ryan O’Neal so we were delighted when Farrah Fawcett’s will became public and she ignored Ryan completely and left $100,000 to her “college sweetheart” Greg Lott. Greg was a football star and Farrah was a freshman at the University of Texas when they met. Eventually she ran off to Hollywood and married Lee Majors. Farrah and Greg reunited in their later years and she gave him the rights to sell Farrah posters and merchandise and run her fan web site. In college they had spent a romantic spring break together in Acapulco and in 2000, Farrah and Greg reenacted that vacation. In THIS INTERVIEW Greg says Redmond lived with is father (whom Farrah never married) from the age of 12 on – hardly a decent influence. When she became bedridden, jealous Ryan had Greg banned from phoning or visiting. Greg complained, but no one paid much attention until this detail from Farrah’s will indicated her true relationship with Greg.

We were happy to see that Ryan O’Neal’s kids Tatum and Griffin validated all the claims we made about Ryan cashing in on Farrah’s death. We believed that all that whimpering Ryan did on TV was strictly to publicize HIMSELF, and make some money doing interviews. We always though he was a reprehensible person and father, and his damaged children agree. Newly blonde Tatum has admitted her father did not recognize her at Farrah’s funeral and tried to “pick her up.” Griffin told Larry King that he felt his father Ryan simply “tried to make money off Farrah’s death .” Griffin said “He stuck around to make sure he was in Farrah’s will.” (He WASN”T, Redmond got it all.) Now Griffin suspects that Ryan is sticking close to incarcerated Redmond “because he got all the money.”

We were happy to learn that Farrah Fawcett didn’t leave anything in her will to her longtime companion Ryan O’Neal. Farrah‘s more than four million dollar estate is mostly going to her son Redmond O’Neal, currently in jail on drug charges. Farrah rewrote her will in 2007 to make sure Redmond’s inheritance will be carefully handled by executors so he won’t use the money to fund his drug habit. Redmond will have a trust fund and monthly allowance, along with money to by a house. Farrah also left money to her alma mater The University of Texas .

You can’t turn on the TV lately without seeing Ryan O’Neal describing Farrah Fawcett’s tragic “last hours.” These are all the talk show bookings that were cancelled when Michael Jackson died just hours after Farrah. Does anyone really want to know about Farrah’s last breathing moments? There’s no mystery here. We are sadly familiar with the way she died and happy she was nominated for an Emmy. Ryan seems to be milking it for all it’s worth as he describes her last days in detail in that quivering voice, and compares his “loss” to his movie “Love Story.”

SOMEBODY has been playing far too much tennis without the benefit of sunscreen. Dick Van Patten, the patriarch of the 80’s series “Eight is Enough” showed up at the premier of “Farrah’s Story” with a big bandage on his head. He admitted he’d had cancerous tissue removed. For a fair skinned blue eyed person, he’s given himself a LOT of skin damage over the years. Farrah’s best friend Alana Stewart, who produced the documentary, was also at the premier and Ryan O’Neal was there also, lapping up attention, as usual.

Still trying to make amends for their scandalous drug bust, Ryan O’Neal and his son Redmond went shopping together in Beverly Hills to buy a birthday gift for Redmond’s mom Farrah Fawcett. Her birthday is February 2. They checked out a few stores and finally decided to play it safe and select something from Cartier.

After Ryan O’Neal and his son Redmond were arrested in September for possession of methamphetamines, Ryan’s lawyer insisted that Ryan had confiscated the drugs from his son and they weren’t his. But yesterday the story changed – Ryan pleaded GUILTY to drug possession and agreed to enter an 18 month drug treatment program. Charges will be dropped if he completes the program. Redmond was already on probation when he was arrested and he’ll be arraigned February 20th. Ryan is not supposed to associate with drug abusers, but Redmond will probably be shipped off to another rehab or even jail. And you think YOU have a messed up family!

Ryan O’Neal, 67, and his son Redmond, 23, showed up in Malibu court today, looking like they were miserable in each other’s company. They were relieved that their possession of methamphetamines cases were continued until January 9. In spite of that, we’re betting those family holiday dinners will be strained, at best.

Since her half brother Redmond AND her father Ryan have been arrested on drug charges, Tatum O’Neal must feel like the heat is off her for now. Certainly it will be more difficult for Ryan to deny the charges Tatum made in her tell-all book “A Paper Life.” If you recall Tatum claimed to be distraught over the death of her dog when she got caught attempting to buy crack recently and now we’re happy to see she’s got a new puppy.

We haven’t seen Farrah Fawcett in awhile and we’re happy to observe in these photos that she’s looking good. These were taken at Ryan O’Neal’s Malibu house the day after he and Redmond were arrested for drug possession. It has been speculated that Farrah was staying at the house when the arrest occurred. If so, it is an odd place to recuperate from cancer.

Ryan O’Neal should be nominated for “worst father” in the history of Hollywood. Every one of his kids seem to be hopelessly screwed up by drugs and following in his crooked path. Last December a furious Ryan reportedly punched and KNOCKED OUT his son Redmond at Ryan’s Pro-Gym in LA in front of 30 spectators. Ryan blew his top and accused Redmond, 23, who had just completed his 12th stint in rehab, of using drugs again and forging a check to get them. The latest arrest in which Ryan’s Malibu house was searched as part of Redmond’s probation is especially appalling. Redmond was caught with meth and a vial of meth was reportedly found in Ryan’s room also. Both were arrested with $10,000 bail. People at Ryan’s gym are shocked – they thought that since Ryan had his cancer scare, he was working out religiously and focusing on getting himself and Farrah better. If charges against Ryan turn out to be true, it will be a big disappointment, but it might explain his violent temper.

Here’s some more Hollywood history worth a second look. This is a photo of Ryan O’Neal circa 1973 at a Hollywood party – very relaxed and not on guard. That’s Tatum on the right (She and her dad were very close in those days, in fact it’s rumored that she used to climb into bed with her dad and his girlfriends.) and LOOK who’s sitting between them! That’s teenage Melanie Griffith! Not long after she split with Don Johnson, baby-faced Melanie started dating Ryan. She was barely legal and this picture really tells a story.

This picture of Burt Reynolds and Ryan O’Neal looks like it was taken in the late 70’s at some sort of ball game – maybe Lakers basketball. They were the leather jacketed cool single guys of that era – sort of like players Wilmer Valderrama and maybe Justin Timberlake today. Hard to imagine, huh? We’re starting to get the feeling that right about now Farrah is beginning to remember why she broke up with Ryan O’Neal all those years ago. Maybe he WAS supportive during her cancer battle, but he’s the same bully he always was. Ryan’s ego and bad temper has caused awful problems for all his kids and don’t forget he was also accused of introducing his kids to drugs. If you look at all the tragic problems his children have had, you can clearly see the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Ryan’s Saturday arrest involvng a fight with his son Griffin, punctuated by a gunshot, proves age hasn’t mellowed him. Maybe he can be a good FRIEND, but he’s still a candidate for world’s worst dad.

Sure, Farrah Fawcett has been feeling lousy from her cancer treatments, but she says the Enquirer story about her begging “Let Me Die” is all wrong. To prove her point she had Ryan O’Neal take her out to lunch at the very public Cafe Roma in Beverly Hills. She wanted everyone to see that she’s not at death’s door and hoped to have pictures taken. Of course, Ryan still has that TEMPER and in this photo it looks like for the moment he forgot Farrah’s mission and he’s giving the photographer the evil eye and gesturing as if he’s about to stick a fork in him.
