And just like that, Katie Holmes could join the cast of And Just Like That. Season 3 of the updated Sex and the City series won’t air until 2025, but according to a show insider, Katie is being wooed to appear on a few episodes and we can thank Zac Posen if it happens. AJLT star Sarah Jessica Parker is buddies with fashion designer Zac, and he also happens to be friends with Katie. Zac thought NY based Katie would be PERFECT for the show and Sarah, who’s also an executive producer, agreed. A few details still need to be ironed out, but our source says it’s pretty much a done deal.

CARRIE BRADSHAW MIGHT END UP WITH MATTHEW BRODERICK!

It only took around 30 years, but Matthew Broderick and Sarah Jessica Parker are finally planning to work together again. The last time the couple were costars was in 1996 in the Broadway revival of How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying, According to a source, Matthew will join an upcoming season of Sarah’s popular HBOMAX series, And Just Like That. Since Mr. Big died and Aiden went back to his family on the farm, Sarah’s character Carrie Bradshaw is solo. Producers, including Sarah, want Carrie to end the series in love, so they’ve tapped her real life husband to play her love interest. Our source says that the show has been greenlit for a few more seasons and the plan is to introduce Matthew’s character in the very last season, so expect Carrie to have her fair share of flings until then.

“AND JUST LIKE THAT” CHARACTERS MIGHT BECOME DOLLS!

Will women and gay men play with dolls? That’s the question And Just Like That producers are trying to answer now. According to a series insider (remember we were the FIRST to reveal Kim Cattrall was making a surprise appearance!) producers have developed a series of collectible dolls complete with designer wardrobes that they are test marketing in focus groups. The show’s demographics are mainly middle-aged women and gay men, (just like this website!) so producers are trying to decipher whether there’s a market for these dolls, which will retail for a few hundred dollars each. So far the feedback has been positive, so Sarah Jessica Parker and her pals could be coming to a store near you.

Persistence pays off, just ask Sarah Jessica Parker. Since her days on Sex and the City, Sarah has wanted her Hocus Pocus costar and fellow New Yorker, Bette Midler, to appear on her series, but it never happened. They had so much fun filming their hit sequel Hocus Pocus 2, that Bette agreed to appear on the SATC spin-off, And Just Like That. The details are still being worked out, but the current plan is for Bette to play herself and plug her pet project, the New York Restoration Fund, the project Bette started over 25 years ago to save NYC’s parks and green space. The working script has Sarah’s character, Carrie Bradshaw, volunteer at the charity and clash with Bette.

Every time we see a photo of the Sex & The City girls filming in New York, we get excited thinking about the revival series And Just Like That. This reboot would NOT have happened 20 years ago, because the main characters are now in their 50’s! Viewers have grown up watching these beloved women and we are eager to see how they are living their lives as mature women. How will Samantha’s absence be written into the script? Two new girlfriends of color will be a welcome and realistic addition to the cast. We hear that Carrie is now divorced from Mr Big – will she take up with Aiden (John Corbett’s character) again? Carrie’s funny gay friends are returning, and we wonder if Charlotte and Miranda are still happy with their guys Harry and Steve. Most important: we hope the brilliant writers from the original series are on board!

IS A 15 MINUTE CHAT WITH SARAH JESSICA PARKER WORTH $10,000?

A disgruntled eBay shopper told me this story: Sarah Jessica Parker joined other celebrities and donated her time to raise money for the Fashion Scholarship Fund on eBay. Her offer was a fifteen minute personal zoom conversation, another 45 minute chat about wine, and a case of her Invivo X wine. Bidding started at $1000, and our shopper excitedly bid the minimum. Time went by and Sarah noticed that another celebrity deal sold for only $1000 and she was worried that hers would only pull in that much (she had only one bid.) Sarah abruptly switched to BUY IT NOW for $10,000 to up the ante. Our bidder was very disappointed and couldn’t afford that much. He pondered “Is 15 minutes of gossip and a drink with Sarah Jessica Parker worth $10,000?” Remember it IS for charity…

Coincidentally (or not) this SJP store is located in the former location of the Manolo Blahnik shoe store that Carrie Bradshaw frequently visited and gushed about on the show. (Sarah fondly remembers filming there – Carrie wore Blahnik shoes to her wedding) Certainly business must have picked up since Sarah started pitching in to work there…

Sarah Jessica Parker took some time off from working at her SJP shoe store to spend Labor Day weekend on the beach in the Hamptons. She and Matthew Broderick look like any other married couple on the sand (are those people on that busy beach really six feet apart?) Their daughters were frolicking in the water nearby. The Sex & the City star was able to swim, relax, and read, pretty much unnoticed.

SARAH JESSICA PARKER: “CAN I TRY THIS IN A SIZE 9?”

A few weeks ago we told you Sarah Jessica Parker made a surprise appearance at her SJP shoe store in Manhattan and she worked as a salesperson. Shoppers loved it and sales went through the roof. Last weekend, the E! channel had one of their Sex & the City three day marathons featuring every episode from the six seasons of the beloved series.(It’s still fabulous!) Coincidentally or not, Sarah is BACK in the busy store waiting on customers with the rest of the staff this week. Sarah was just one of the girls when she and the other salesclerks went out for a taco lunch – she was happily masked and unrecognized.
