Producers of the new “Sex & The City 2” movie are toning DOWN the script because they’re afraid they’ll get an NC-17 or even an X rating. What they’re editing OUT is a lot of nudity – by men! Originally producers (Sarah Jessica Parker is one of them) had planned a few full frontal male nude scenes, including one of Mr Big, to titillate the mostly female audience. But that idea was dropped because the first movie was rated R due to sexy content and they didn’t want to eliminate more of the audience. Mr Big’s nude scene was the first to be cut out.

This photo of Sarah Jessica Parker and her son James is significant because she is taking him to the New York Public Library. SJP pulled her kid away from his computer and video games and she is familiarizing him a place she hopes will become a hang-out for him in the future. It’s an old fashioned notion, but one we treasure because the library was OUR second home when growing up and we never regretted a minute spent there.

There’s a very good reason why Sarah Jessica Parker is dressed SO much like Madonna in the 80’s for this flashback sequence in “Sex & the City 2.” The reason is that Madonna used to buy her gear in the very hip, rather undergound store “Patricia Fields” in the village. This shop had all the garter belts, waist cinchers, rubber jewelry, ripped tights, fingerless gloves, and petticoats you could ever want. And that same Pat Fields has always done the fabulous wardrobe for “Sex and the City.”

The Sex & the City TV series always celebrated excess – too much shopping and big spending on whimsical designer apparel. But “Sex & the City 2” – the movie – is trying to make up for it in a tiny way. They actually recycled a Dior dress that Carrie wore on the series a few years back. It’s John Galliano’s newsprint dress and the frock was criticized at the time by humorless fashionistas because Galliano admitted he was inspired by people living on the street. Critics sniffed “politically incorrect.” Galliano’s own face is on the dress and we’d LOVE a Janet Charlton’s Hollywood blogprint dress of our own.

HOLLY HUNTER: ANOTHER "SEX AND THE CITY" CASUALTY

World of Wonder offices are right on Hollywood Boulevard so they’re first to check out the action there. Today Holly Hunter got her star on the Walk of Fame and a crowd was assembled watching her give a sincere thank-you speech. Halfway through it, there was a big disturbance as a group of women in high heels came running out of the lobby of the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. They were flailing their handbags and screaming “It’s Sarah Jessica Parker! Carrie! Carrie! Carrie!” Obviously they were infected with “Sex and the City” mania because they mistook startled Holly for Sarah. (There IS a resemblance, isn’t there?) When informed of their mistake, they backed off and continued down the street. The crowd laughed and Holly resumed her speech.

Sarah Jessica Parker looks adorable in this publicity photo (at left) for her new Sex and the City movie. Note that her distinctive mole had been all but airbrushed away. (Is it really a mole? If it’s raised and has no pigment, that sounds like a wart to us.) To be kind we will call it a mole, and it has been a point of dissention. Most professionals think Sarah should have the distracting flaw removed and it would improve her looks. Especially on the big screen. But she’s so sweet that nobody wants to be unkind and point it out to her. Maybe she’ll get the hint from these new photos.

Sex and the City is one of the most anticipated movies of the year, and a sequal is already in the works. But the fabulously successful star Sarah Jessica Parker is still nursing hurt feelings since Maxim magazine callously dubbed her “The Unsexiest Woman Alive.” (Apparently some men at Maxim don’t find her as appealing as women and advertisers do.) Sarah admits “It hurt so much. Just because I don’t fit the ideals of the men writing at this magazine, does that really make me the unsexiest woman alive? It’s brutal, and it hurt my husband too.” We agree with Sarah that the list was cruel and arrogant – you don’t see women’s magazines listing “The 10 least appealing Hollywood actors.” If it’s any consolation, Amy Winehouse was the second unsexiest woman on the Maxim list.

One of the things we loved most about Sex & The City was the fact that it was filmed on location in New York, and it was almost like BEING there. How they managed to shoot right on the street, in the park, and in and out of restaurants and clubs and familiar places, was always amazing, but it made all the difference in the world. Here’s a shot from the current movie of Sarah Jessica Parker in a winter storm – the snow looks real doesn’t it? And it’s not on a back lot.
