RIHANNA IS OK WITH SAUDI ARABIAN CRIMES AGAINST WOMEN

We find the fact that Rihanna appeared on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar Arabia unsettling to say the least. The often scantily clad singer insisted on dressing in accordance with the customs of the country. Does that mean she RESPECTS the customs of a country that DENIES equal rights for women? Has Rihanna LOST HER MIND? Saudi women are covered from head to toe and need permission from a “male guardian” to open a bank account or visit a doctor. Driving is out of the question. They even have separate entrances for men and women in their own homes! Actually Saudi crimes against women are too numerous to mention – Rihanna should be ashamed of herself for “respecting” these diabolical “customs.”

WOMEN IN SAUDI ARABIA ARE NOW PERMITTED TO DRIVE

Just kidding. Women still cannot drive – or do much of anything in Saudi Arabia without a male chaperone and heavy black burqa. We love this photo, but women’s rights in Saudi Arabia are no joke. It reminds us of how lucky we were to be born in a reasonably civilized country.

IKEA IS PANDERING TO MISOGYNISTS

Is anybody else tired of “respecting” other people’s religions even when it means demeaning and insulting women? And to think we always had such a high opinion of Ikea! It has been revealed by the Stockholm paper Metro, that ALL WOMEN have been deleted from the Ikea catalog for Saudi Arabia! Every image of a female – including a photo of Audrey Hepburn was edited OUT. Ikea is in the habit of tailoring catalogs for each country to appeal to local taste and cultural standards but THIS is too much. When confronted with this insult to women, an Ikea rep gulped and admitted the move is “in conflict with company values and Ikea is reviewing its procedures.” No kidding.
UPDATE: This morning Star Jones said she didn’t see anything wrong with what Ikea did.
