Sofia Vergara’s boyfriend got lucky! After two years of togetherness, Sofia and Nick Loeb’s romance turned rocky over the past few months. The Enquirer’s scandalous story about Nick cheating on Sofia with several hookers at drug-fueled orgies didn’t make the relationship any easier. Nick, who comes from a wealthy family, apparently managed to convince Sofia that he’s not such a bad guy and that he really loves her, because after all their problems, they are now engaged! Right now they are vacationing in Mexico celebrating Sofia’s 40th birthday and the news came back on Twitter. We just HOPE she puts off the wedding long enough to make sure he means what he said.

And a former cruise worker filed suit against Travolta this week for embracing him while naked.

The John Travolta saga continues. Last week The Enquirer revealed that John had a six year affair with his pilot Doug Gotterba in the 1980’s and the pilot avoided commenting. Now Gotterba has changed his tune to put it mildly, and he has plans to write a tell-all book about his romance with Travolta. We can already picture the Scientologists rushing to offer the pilot money NOT to write the book. Either way, Gotterba will profit nicely from the relationship. And why shouldn’t he? Masseurs and hotel workers continue to come forward with accusations against John who has been amazingly indiscreet though the years.

We just KNEW the John Travolta gay expose was not over. This week’s National Enquirer has an interview with a former employee of John’s who was his secretary from 1978 to 1994, and she knew he was gay and it never bothered her. She also says she was aware of Travolta’s 6 year sexual relationship with his pilot Doug Gotterba in the 1980’s. Gotterba wouldn’t talk about it, but a later boyfriend of his DID reveal details about the gay relationship. The Enquirer also mentions that 16 year old Brooke Shields was once set up on a date with John to make him look straight. John’s lawyer must be delighted to see more hours of litigation ahead! MARY J BLIGE: CHARITABLE OR GREEDY?

Call us pessimistic, but we’re starting to think that most celebrity namesake charities are all about stashing money to avoid paying taxes while living high on the hog. The recent Mary J Blige scandal is a prime example. Dedicated to “women’s empowerment,” the charity promised four year scholarships to 24 aspiring female students but couldn’t manage to cover tuitions OR pay their own bills, despite raising hundreds of thousands of dollars. Are these charities just used to finance first class travel and lavish expenses for the celebrities and friends, plus generous salaries for relatives hired to run the “business?” What percentage of donations actually HELPED anyone? Certainly Blige enjoyed her “charitable image” and is embarrassed that she was caught. Why did Gucci donate both to Blige and Madonna’s highly questionable charities? Smells like a tax write-off for everyone involved.

We heard a VERY interesting piece of gossip today. We were puzzled by the fact that the first masseur who filed suit against John Travolta had the WRONG DATE. How could that happen? An insider whispered to us that the incorrect date was most likely DELIBERATELY given as part of a strategy before the suit was filed. This is a way for the celebrity involved to save face. And both lawyers are adding billing hours. We suspect a settlement is in the works that will make everyone happy, including the victim. Our legal source told us this is a fairly common procedure in high profile lawsuits.

Writers promise the show will be even edgier than “Men” and if they are half as good as “Men’s” clever writers, Charlie has another hit on his hands. There’s no doubt that Terrence Howard, 42, is going through one of the nastiest celebrity divorces of the year. He secretly married Michelle Ghent a year ago and she filed for divorce citing multiple violent confrontations. Terrence denies abusing his wife and shot back with accusations that his wife “hates black people” and a long list of insults and violence on her part. Who’s right? It’s too bad, but the handsome charismatic actor has a history of assault. Howard not only exaggerates his education, but he was sued by a composer he attacked while doing a Broadway show. In 2009 he was arrested for assaulting his estranged wife and later was arrested for assaulting a flight attendant. And he thought Chris Brown’s beating of Rihanna was no big thing! Something is VERY wrong with Terrence Howard.

This Hilary Swank scandal is leaving a bad taste in our mouths for many reasons. As you know, she is under fire for accepting a bundle of money to participate in the birthday celebration of bloodthirsty tyrant Ramzan Kadyrov, the President of Chechnya. Granted, resisting the generous hospitality of Russian billionaires is not easy, but this guy is rotten to the core. Keep in mind, Seal and Jean Claude Van Damme enjoyed the same circumstances as Hilary and THEY should be every bit as ashamed. If Hilary HAD researched Kadyrov, as she claimed, she would know that kidnapping, torture, and murder are his specialties, and that includes killing female journalists who write about him. Kadyrov is a Muslim with contempt for women, who believes that “women are the property of their husbands” and he approves of “honor killings.” What’s more, he forces the women of his country to wear SCARVES. That makes Hilary’s support of Kadyrov a crime against women’s rights. What’s most disappointing is the fact that Hilary parted with her management team rather than take responsibility for her own actions.

The IRS is deep in their investigation of the Kabbalah Center, which calls itself a non-profit organization and doesn’t file a tax return. The investigation started when the cult’s chief financial officer uncovered income tax fraud. Millions of dollars in donations have been made and where the money went is the big question. We didn’t realize that Sandra Bernhard was the first celebrity to get involved in Kabbalah and she pulled in many famous friends like Roseanne Barr and Madonna. Other celebrities attracted to Kabbalah include Elizabeth Taylor, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Gentiles Paris Hilton Britney Spears, Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore. Celebrities accelerated Kabbalah’s financial growth. None of the celebrities remaining in the fold have commented on the IRS scandal. Madonna remains loyal even though the Malawi orphanage she planned with Kabbalah leaders never came to fruition and the money disappeared. We just hope this IRS investigation leads to the taxation of wealthy groups like Kabbalah or Scientology – or even better, ALL religions.
