We almost didn’t recognize his cute young guy without his famous father. It’s Connor Cruise, 14, and he’s growing up to be quite handsome. He’s already an actor – he’s appeared in “Australia” with his mother Nicole Kidman, and “Seven Pounds” with his dad’s good friend Will Smith, and he landed a role in the remake of “Red Dawn,” currently filming. It must be nice to take a break from that Scientology home schooling.

WILL SMITH IS IN BED WITH SCIENTOLOGY

When “Crash” director Paul Haggis defected from Scientology recently it stimulated a well-deserved tornado of publicity, and the story went everywhere. But for some reason, when The Hollywood Reporter’s Roger Friedman wrote about Will Smith and Jada Pinkett’s contributions to Scientology last year, it didn’t get a lot of attention. Remember, Will Smith vehemently DENIED being a Scientologist, but he donated $80,000 to Scientology groups in 2008 according to tax filing. Jada Pinkett Smith, who donated $122,000, DOESN’T deny being a Scientologist, and is outraged by criticism of the cult. Jada said in a 2008 interview “You have people who are attacking and want to fight. And don’t know nothing. How you gonna not know nothing about Scientology and attack somebody? It’s dangerous and it’s ignorant. And as an American I’m not gonna be a part of that.”

KIRSTIE ALLEY DOESN’T NEED SHOES TO SUPPORT SCIENTOLOGY

Kirstie Alley showed up BAREFOOT for some reason, to the Monte Carlo Benefit held at her Scientology friend Nancy Cartwright’s house in Northridge. Nancy, who happens to be the voice of Bart Simpson, is an avid Scientologist who not long ago donated TEN MILLION DOLLARS to the cult specifically to fund Scientology’s “war on suppressive people.” (That is, people like us, who criticize Scientology.) So far they have not WON the war. The proceeds from the Monte Carlo benefit are donated PAL (the Police Activities League – yes the police happily accept donations from Scientology. Buttering up the cops is always smart!) PAL is opening a Youth Center in Northridge where kids can play sports and be brainwashed by Scientologists. Parents beware!

IS JOHN TRAVOLTA DISILLUSIONED WITH SCIENTOLOGY?

We were SHOCKED to learn that Scientologist John Travolta has admitted in court at his extortion trial in the Bahamas, that his son Jett was autistic and suffered from a seizure disorder common to the disease. This is a very big turnaround! John always insisted that Jett had something called Kawasaki disease caused by toxins in his carpet. Scientology doesn’t believe autism is a real disorder so Jett was never treated for autism. Travolta’s courtroom confession is a huge SLAP IN THE FACE to Scientology. Has John finally realized that Scientology doesn’t know it ALL? In recent weeks John has supposedly been deep in despair and contemplation, depressed over Jett’s death. (Feeling guilty perhaps, for not acknowledging and treating his son’s autism?) Maybe, just maybe, he is coming to his senses about Scientology. And not a minute too soon.

DAVID CARRADINE MAY HAVE BEEN A CROSS-DRESSER, TOO

Another day, another startling revelation. We thought the David Carradine death scandal couldn’t get any more twisted, but it’s gone a step further. First we have the apparent autoerotic asphyxiation with questions about whether he really WAS alone in his Bangkok hotel room. The five star hotel and local police can’t seem to get their stories straight. Then we hear Carradine’s exwife charges that he not only indulged in deviant and dangerous sex, but he also admitted to an incestuous affair with a “close relative” believed to be a daughter. And, of course, we now know that he dabbled in Scientology. After a photo of his body was published in a Thai tabloid, TMZ got ahold of it and examined it closely. They concluded that David might have been wearing a brunette wig and fishnet stockings, and that it looked like women’s lingerie was laid out on the bed. This adds cross-dressing to his abundant list of sexual quirks. Oddly enough, in 1989, Carradine played the WIFE of Brad Dourif in the movie Sonny Boy.(see video above)

MORE BAD NEWS: DAVID CARRADINE WAS INVOLVED IN SCIENTOLOGY

Could David Carradine’s reputation get any worse? First he dies during a kinky sex act, now being investigated by the FBI to find out if he really was alone or in the company of some shady Thai sex partner(s.) Then the news that his ex wife Marina Anderson charged him with deviant sexual behavior and of having an incestuous relationship with a close family member- which he did NOT deny. Now he’s been linked to Scientology! Carradine’s widow Annie Bierman is a full-fledged Scientologist and David rode in the Scientology float in the Hollywood Christmas parade, and his band, Soul Dogs, have performed at the Celebrity Center. (Scientologists are rarely, if ever, married to NON Scientologists.) We’re betting Carradine is one celebrity the Scientologists would like to forget.

Tom Cruise would want you to know about this. Scientologists are opening a new “Celebrity Centre” in Nashville in a 36000 square foot building that was once an elementary school. A “Celebrity Centre” is where the Scientologists entertain members with money. The space isn’t even refurbished yet, and already the Anonymous protesters have showed up with signs that say “Religion is Free – Scientology is neither” and “Honk If You Think Scientology is a Cult.” They’re getting lots of honks.

Dustin Hoffman took his daughter shopping at A.P.C. in Soho. He must be the shortest one in his family. We’re sure he MEANT well, but Dustin was one of the Hollywood stars who signed an open letter in 1997 to then German Chancellor Helmut Kohl, PROTESTING the treatment of Scientologists in Germany. Fortunately, Chancellor Kohl ignored the Hollywood letter and Germany has gone farther than any other Western European country to RESTRICT the rights of Scientologists. Germans regard Scientology not as a religion but as a profit making enterprise and a cult. In fact, several prominent Germans have compared Tom Cruise to Goebbels the Nazi propaganda minister. We wonder if Dustin still supports Scientology.

THE TRAVOLTA BLACKMAIL PLOT THICKENS

John Travolta’s blackmail situation regarding the death of his son Jett makes the whole story look more fishy. It is now known that the blackmail document released emergency services of liability because Travolta wanted to take his son to FLORIDA, instead of to the local hospital in the Bahamas after his seizure. Since Jett was barely alive when medics arrived and in need of EMERGENCY treatment, this is a very peculiar choice indeed. (For whatever reason, John changed his mind, or it was changed for him.) No WONDER those crooked Bahamians figured John would want that kept quiet. We can only assume that John planned to fly his son to the Clearwater headquarters of Scientology where his home and landing field is. THAT sounds like an attempted to cover up to us.

Sharon Stone’s younger boyfriend Chase Dreyfous has stuck with her through thick and thin. “Thick” being all those star studded Globes parties, and “thin” being forced to play babysitter to Sharon’s mischievous young sons. The couple took Laird and Quinn out for lunch and shopping in Beverly Hills. Presumably Roan is with his father Phil Bronstein. Did you know Sharon was a Scientologist in the 90’s until she switched to Buddhism?

The more we hear about Jett Travolta’s death, the more mysterious it becomes. The Bahamas police are pointedly disagreeing with John Travolta’s lawyers’ statements. John’s lawyers have been talking incessantly about the tragedy. It all happened while John was entertaining sixty Scientologists for the weekend (including the lawyers doing the talking) so he had plenty of advice and shoulders to lean on. We don’t think anything will ever be resolved – John’s tight knit group is sticking to their story that Jett was NOT autistic and that there were no anti seizure drugs that would have helped him. Scientologists don’t want to be wrong about anything.

John Travolta’s 16 year old son Jett died tragically on a family vacation in the Bahamas but the circumstances are peculiar indeed. The Travoltas had flown in 60 friends to the Old Bahama Bay Hotel for the celebratory New Year’s weekend. It has been announced that Jett had a seizure in the bathroom and hit his head. Yet, according to an eyewitness, Jett was accompanied everywhere by TWO caretakers who appeared to be Scientologists. (Developmentally disabled Jett was believed to be autistic, but the Travoltas denied it.) He was never alone. Even when Jett used a bathroom there was at least one caretaker with him. So it seems strange that Jett was last seen alive ENTERING the bathroom Thursday EVENING, and his body wasn’t found until Friday late MORNING. That’s ten or twelve hours! Did his caretakers play hooky after Jett went to bed and sneak off to join the party people? If they did, we’d hate to be in THEIR shoes.

THESE are the demonstrators that caused Tom Cruise to sneak into his own “Valkyrie” premier through an underground tunnel. He didn’t want to come face to face with them so he was furtively smuggled into the Director’s Guild in West Hollywood. Once inside, he posed with movie posters, and appears to have lost some weight.

But nowadays, wherever Tom goes, anti-Scientology demonstrators show up with signs, and they’re getting more creative all the time. They’re always careful to be polite and non-aggressive, and make their points without being offensive. This protestor popped up outside when Tom arrived for his appearance.

It’s not often that you see John Travolta, Kelly Preston and both of their kids out together, but the whole family had a night out in Paris. (John REALLY looks different with that facial hair and bald head.) Ella is 9, and Jett, 16, is reportedly autistic. Because Scientology doesn’t recognize autism or psychiatry, Travolta has never publicly admitted that his son is autistic and blames his disability on environmental causes – specifically “carpet cleaning chemicals.” Jett speaks with difficulty and autism organizations (and certainly Jenny McCarthy) criticize the Travoltas for not giving their son autism treatment and education.

BILL MAHER'S RELIGULOUS DOCUMENTARY APPROACHES ALL RELIGIONS EQUALLY

It is a rare movie that you walk out of laughing AND smarter than when you walked in. Bill Maher’s documentary “Religulous” is that movie. He asks bold and pertinent questions of religious leaders around the world. And he plays no favorites. All religions (including Scientology) are approached with the same probing queries and the answers will astound and entertain you. Bill is very careful to walk a neutral line – he doesn’t want to end up on a hit list like Salman Rushdie. And Maher presents a powerful argument for keeping church and state separate. This documentary should be required viewing for politicians and students. We’re hoping there will be a Religulous II - there is so much more to investigate.

WILL SMITH INSISTS HE IS NOT A SCIENTOLOGIST

Will Smith must be getting worried that his connection to Scientology might be damaging his career or turning off his fans. On Monday the LA anti-Scientology group Anonymous was picketing the Scientology linked school (called the New Village Leadership Academy) that Will is opening. The school admits to using L Ron Hubbard’s “Study Tech” method for educating kids. Imagine the protesters surprise when Will showed up in person to chat with them! Will stated firmly “I am NOT a Scientologist.” Will went on to say that his son used the Scientology Study Tech method to learn to read and he became an avid reader, so Will likes the technique. The Anon people pointed out that using the study technique glorified Hubbard and Scientology. Will declared that his school had NO religious agenda and he would look into concerns brought up by protesters. Will admitted he didn’t know if the school was paying Scientology to use the teaching technique. The Anonymous group was favorably impressed with his earnest tone, but they remain vigilant. WE think that Tom Cruise’s buddy Jada Pinkett Smith is pulling the strings behind the scenes here, and that SHE is committed to Scientology more than Will.

JANEANE GARAFOLO HAS NO BEEF WITH SCIENTOLOGY

The internet group called Anonymous (XENU.NET) has been picketing Scientology buildings in Hollywood and recently they showed up in full force when the Celebrity Centre held a major black tie $600 a plate event . The protesters, who are popping up all around the world, wear masks and carry signs that say things like:
“Ron is Gone, But the Con Goes On”
“Revoke the Scientology Tax Exemption”
“Scientology Kills”
“Honk if you Hate Tom Cruise”
Coincidentally, politically conscious Janeane Garafolo, in a green t shirt and pink leggings, happened to be walking down the street and when she saw the protesters she sneered “F***ING BIGOTS!”
The protesters were surprised by her thoughtless comment, because they are convinced that Scientologists are the bigots. Maybe she wants to be on the “church’s” good side.
