WILL & GRACE: 25 YEARS LATER

The Paley Museum in New York is celebrating one of our all-time favorite TV shows, Will & Grace, on the 25th anniversary of the series debut- and the namesake stars are still lookin’ GOOD! Besides watching taped interviews with stars (Eric McCormack and Debra messing, above, and Sean Hayes and Megan Mullally) museum visitors can take photos in Will’s recreated living room,  examine original props and costumes, and re-watch landmark episodes. Keep in mind, this event is to celebrate the positive impact the diverse characters on this series had on future LGBTQ+ representation on TV. Too bad costar Leslie Jordan is no longer around to join the fun…

LET’S GIVE WILL & GRACE A HUGE FINALE

Whatever you do, don’t let pandemic malaise cause you to miss the final episode of Will & Grace tonight. (We’re glad someone reminded us) It’s such a special series – anyone who worked and lived in New York (or wanted to) in the late 90’s and early 2000’s and was gay or had gay friends, can happily identify with the characters. Such brilliant writers. We remember Jack cruising the men’s department in Bloomingdale’s -THAT’S how true to life this story was! The show ended in 2006 – before the economy crash when everyone lost jobs. Funny how this recent revival is ending at another traumatic time. Last chance to say goodbye to Will and Grace and Jack and Karen is tonight at 9.

WILL & GRACE SHOW IS MORE CHARITABLE THAN IT SEEMS

We’re even MORE impressed with the new Will & Grace since we learned how much MONEY the show earns for charities: a million dollars since the Oct 1 season premier! According to The Hollywood Reporter, producers hand out tickets to their live tapings to various charities to auction off. The charities are happy and ticket buyers also get a chance to meet the cast. The show’s producer Max Mutchnick explains that in the ten years they were off the air “it’s who we have become.” Not only do they raise money for charity, but they get a very enthusiastic audience…

SEAN HAYES: JUST JACK IS ON HIS WAY BACK!

Sean Hayes is under the radar, shopping in Beverly Hills, while we are waiting anxiously for the new episodes of Will & Grace, set to film this summer. We though it was one of the best written sitcoms of all time – until it jumped the shark when Debra Messing got pregnant. How NBC managed to get the same cast, producers, and director back remains a miracle. Times have changed a lot since Jack was working at Bloomingdale’s, and new story lines abound.

WILL & GRACE STAR SEAN HAYES GOT A NEW SERIES

We couldn’t be happier to learn that Will & Grace star Sean Hayes is returning to TV. His Jack McFarland was one of the funniest characters EVER. NBC has been eager to lure Sean back in front of the camera and they found what sounds like the perfect project. It’s an untitled comedy about two gay dads raising a 12 year old boy. We hate to admit it, but we wouldn’t mind seeing Eric McCormack as the other dad. We miss them both. When Will & Grace was filming, we used to see Sean Hayes walking around our neighborhood once in awhile and he was always pleasant.
