Even ho-hum tennis observers have to feel some love for this photo. Serena Williams has been isolating and hasn’t played a formal tennis match for around six months. So she decided to give a doubles tennis lesson to her little girl Alexis, who turns three in September. In matching purple tennis outfits, no less! Alexis’s enthusiasm indicates that she just might follow in mom’s footsteps…
After last night’s glamorous appearance at the Met Gala, Serena Williams spent the day in Manhattan with her doting husband Alexis Ohanian and their cute 20 month old daughter Alexis Jr. They did a little shopping and took a walk in Central park. Thanks in part to her helpful husband, Serena has been able to actively pursue her tennis career without ever spending a full day away from their little girl.

We couldn’t believe how Kim Kardashian dresses to go shopping in London. She’s wearing an extremely tight low cut black cocktail dress and stilettos. By chance she bumped into Serena Williams who was also shopping. Serena chose a sportier – and more functional- daytime look. The two hugged and reminisced while they attracted a crowd, many of whom were amazed by Kim’s bottom. Is she giving Americans a bad name?

We almost didn’t recognize Serena Williams in this photo from New York – she looks fantastic! Serena has always loved fashion but it didn’t always love her. On the tennis court this champ amused the crowd with some zany outfits and when she dressed up, she wore shiny, tight fitting clothes that didn’t flatter her muscular physique. (Hate to say it, but sometimes she looked like a man in a dress!) Speaking of which, we’re thinking she cut back on steroids or SOMETHING because her body is still strong, but way more feminine and sleek.

Usually whatever tennis champ Serena Williams wears is the subject of much speculation but this time it was her face. She looked especially pretty and feminine at the Hamptons Magazine cover party sponsored by Grey Goose at Pranna in Manhattan. Serena’s hair is darker and SOME observers think she had her nose surgically tweaked. It’s either THAT or very artfully applied make up. In fact, her nose looks a lot like Kim Kardashian’s now.

Frequently when we see tennis champ Serena Williams in fashion situations we think there’s a pretty, feminine girl inside her super athletic physique just dying to come out. Serena obviously loves fashion but her muscles get in the way. It’s those muscles that help her win all those tournaments and all that money, so they’re here to stay. We could be wrong, but we always get the feeling she’s wistfully yearning to look like Naomi Campbell in her clothes.

Somebody please tell Serena Williams that she doesn’t have to follow the pack and wear skinny jeans to be fashionable. Some bodies just aren’t designed to be forced into skin tight denim. Ouch! It’s sad but true: skinny jeans are best left to skinny bodies.
