LAINIE KAZAN IS ODDLY UNCONCERNED ABOUT HER SHOPLIFTING ARREST

Lainie Kazan’s friends are worried and offering help because she seems to be IN DENIAL regarding her shoplifting arrest at the Gelson’s upscale supermarket located a few blocks from her house. She’s assuring concerned friends “it’s no big deal,” and isn’t taking the situation seriously, but they know it IS serious. It’s not a minor infraction ($180) and could be worse if she’s ever stolen before. According to Gelson’s, she shoplifted at least two times previously and they have it on video. Stores don’t LIKE to catch celebrity shoplifters, and often overlook it if the items aren’t expensive. (Remember Winona Ryder and Saks Fifth Avenue?) Lainie might have been emboldened by her “successful” earlier shoplifting and took even more. And who knows where ELSE she might be shoplifting. Yes, her friends ARE worried…

THE BALLPLAYING THIEVES WHO DISGRACED UCLA BROUGHT OUT THE WORST IN OTHERS!

When we heard that three UCLA basketball players had been arrested in China for SHOPLIFTING, we were flabbergasted at how stupid the guys must be. And they’re IN COLLEGE! It turns out that security footage revealed the three guys- all around 19 or 20 – stole Louis Vuitton sunglasses (average price $700) and other stuff from three stores near their hotel. A big heist – and it was all found in their luggage. Stealing thousands of dollars of merchandise can get you ten years in prison in China. (Having owned a store, we have no sympathy for thieves.) Apparently President Trump helped get them released (and of course he wanted a pat on the back!) The father of one player was equally stupid when he said he doubted the president’s role in getting the players released and sniffed that shoplifting was “no big deal.” NO WONDER the kid is a thief – with a father like that! Of course, all this inspired our chatty president to reply “I should have left them in jail.” Maybe he should have.

THE TRUTH ABOUT WINONA RYDER’S SHOPLIFTING

It’s nice that Winona Ryder, 44, is making a bit of a comeback with her new Netflix series “Stranger Things” – she spent years away from Hollywood after her scandalous drug and shoplifting bust at Saks Fifth Avenue in Beverly Hills. Too bad she doesn’t seem to have learned a lesson from that awful experience. In a new magazine interview she minimized her arrest with the excuse “It wasn’t the crime of the century” and avoided details: “It wasn’t what you think.” Actually, it was much WORSE than you thought. We were THERE investigating and learned that she shoplifted in MANY stores that never pressed charges because she was a sweet looking celebrity. In fact she was FAMOUS for her sticky fingers – one store showed us a security tape of her stealing! (Unfortunately, they wouldn’t sell that tape!) Not only did she rob many stores by taking loads of clothing into the dressing room and wearing some out under her jackets, but her car trunk was packed with her loot – new clothes with tags that she sold to resale stores! Clerks in the resale shops spilled the beans. Winona’s stealing WAS a big deal and if she doesn’t think so, she still needs help.

LINDSAY LOHAN EVEN STEALS FROM HER “FRIENDS”

#lindsaylohan #janetcharlton

There’s more to this Lindsay Lohan $100,000 jewelry heist than meets the eye. You’ll recall Lindsay was at an all night party at the house of a rich guy named Sam Magid when the host noticed jewelry and electronics missing from his house. He called the cops and named Lindsay and her posse as suspects. Later he changed his mind and decided not to pursue the matter. And we hear it’s not the first time he suspected Lindsay of stealing from his house. This guy Sam Magid is a wealthy but not particularly compelling person who’s desperate to be in the “In Crowd” in Hollywood. He throws lavish parties, hoping to make friends with celebrities and buy his way into their good graces. He considers Lindsay a big star and she introduces him to people. So he DOESN’T want to jeopardize his social connection Lindsay by getting her locked up in jail! Obviously she takes advantage of him. Insiders believe that Lindsay helped her friends jack the merchandise from Sam’s house, knowing he wouldn’t pursue the matter. What a bunch of pathetic people.

OF COURSE VICTORIA GOTTI THINKS SHOPLIFTER LINDSAY LOHAN WAS “SET UP”

Victoria Gotti either showed her ignorance or her contempt for honesty when she talked about Lindsay Lohan with the NY Post’s Andrea Peyser. Lindsay is Victoria’s first choice to play her in a movie about the Gotti family starring John Travolta as John “Junior” Gotti. Andrea asked Victoria if she thought Lindsay was guilty of stealing the necklace. “Absolutely NOT!” declared the mafia moll. “This is a case where someone needs a lot of P.R.” she snorted, referring to the jewelry store where Lindsay was accused of shoplifting. The absurd idea that accusing a celebrity of shoplifting will enhance a store’s image or increase business has been floated by Lindsay’s defense. In fact, the LAST thing a retailer wants to do is catch a celebrity shoplifting because they WANT celebrity customers and it’s awkward and embarrassing. Remember, Saks Fifth Avenue didn’t charge Winona Ryder with stealing until she’d done it so many times they had no choice. And Barneys knew she shoplifted and NEVER reported her. Stores do NOT relish negative publicity, spending hours in court, or offending celebrities and their friends. That’s why MOST celebrity shoplifters get away with it. We commend the store for standing up for their rights!

YOU CAN WATCH THE TAPE OF LINDSAY LOHAN STEALING THAT NECKLACE ON MONDAY NIGHT

We were GLAD to hear that the jewelry store where Lindsay Lohan is accused of shoplifting sold the surveillance tape for $35,000! Who WOULDN’T – given the opportunity? The store has put up with a lot of aggravation for that $2500 stolen necklace and they have to spend who-knows-how-much time in court. The tape belongs to them and they have every right to profit from it. Selling it has NOTHING to do with Lindsay’s guilt or innocence. Everything she did IN the store and later – having the necklace delivered to the police instead of returning it to the store with an apology – indicates to us that she’s certainly guilty, and is, in fact, an experienced and clever thief. Watch the tape on ET Monday night.
