VICTORIA BECKHAM IS DOING BIG GIRLS A FAVOR

Victoria Beckham has been struggling through the pandemic- not with her weight, which remains size 2, but with her business. Her VB fashion collection has suffered over 50 million dollars in losses in the past couple of years and she’s determined to fix things. Victoria’s personal motto has always been “starve yourself or die trying” and her clothes cater to skinny women. This season, however she needs more customers so she’s added larger sizes to her new collection. She’s offering sizes 4 to 18, which SOUNDS impressive, but when you convert to US sizes, it means size 0 to 14. Victoria SAYS “being skinny is out of style” but we don’t believe she really thinks that…

Kanye West is along for the ride in New York where Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner are appearing at the New York Times DealBook Conference. Kim and Kris were interviewed about the growing role of media influencers in the fashion business. (The family’s combined number of followers is 600 million!) They are bombarded with offers to promote items on Instagram and talked about the process of accepting the right ones. Kim seems to have had her lips freshly plumped for the occasion and we are always amused by the fact that Kanye’s clothing gets BIGGER each time we see him (XXXL?) while Kim’s clothes get smaller and tighter. Those open toe sandals must be chilly in New York…

To no one’s surprise, Tom Cruise’s Jack Reacher has been a box-office disappointment. The movie was based on a best selling book and fans of the novel complained loudly that Tom was the WRONG choice for the leading character, who was described as 6’5”, 250 lbs, – an ex-military cop vigilante who was a highly intimidating defender of justice. Producers should have listened to the fans, but egotistically insisted that Tom was the ideal choice and Hollywood didn’t have many hulking leading men anyway. All the shoe lifts and steroids in the world couldn’t make Tom Cruise intimidating. To be honest, it wasn’t all Tom’s fault – the story seemed absurdly repetitious – the hero got shot at least 500 times and ended up without a scratch. VICTORIA BECKHAM: “NO MODELS SMALLER THAN I AM WILL BE ALLOWED IN MY FASHION SHOW !”

Victoria Beckham, 36, is taking Fashion Week in New York very seriously and carefully planned the show for her VB dress collection. While auditioning models for her presentation, she sent home 12 applicants because they were “too skinny.” Victoria, a size 6, didn’t want any models in the show smaller than HER, so she hired girls size 6 and UP. So she says. But looking at the photos, the models are not exactly beefy. But keep in mind, a size 6 in the UK is much smaller than it is in the US.

Opposites DO attract. Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon walked out of a medical building in Beverly Hills (not a gym) and they were each wearing their own particular version of workout wear. Their preferences lie at opposite ends of the spectrum. Mariah likes her apparel three sizes too small and Nick prefers his three sizes too big! The deliriously happy couple is still mum about starting a family.
