Former President Barack Obama wants his daughter Malia to get hypnotized. The 25-year-old former First Daughter was photographed smoking a cigarette while running errands in Los Angeles, and her father wasn’t happy. Barack struggled for years with his addiction to cigarettes and finally kicked the habit, thanks to a pricey hypnotist recommended by none other than Oprah Winfrey. According to our source, Barack offered to shell out the $25,000 if Malia agrees to get hypnotized to stop smoking, but she has not taken her father up on the offer…yet

BEN AFFLECK JUST CANNOT CURB THAT URGE

The honeymoon isn’t over for rekindled lovebirds Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck but that doesn’t mean everything between them is marital bliss. While J.Lo is thrilled to finally be married to Ben, there’s one habit of his she’s trying to curb – he smokes cigarettes. Sober Ben seems to have replaced his booze addiction with nicotine and health fanatic Jen doesn’t approve. She’s banned him from smoking inside the house, but still isn’t thrilled with the second hand smoke that seems to enter the room before he does. And Ben appears to light up whenever he’s out and alone. A friend says Jen is gently encouraging Ben to quit with assorted methods, including hypnosis and nicotine gum, but so far he’s yet to kick that nasty habit.

Malia Obama, 23, is fitting right in to the Los Angeles lifestyle. She was spotted deep in conversation with a male companion at Alfred Coffee in West Hollywood. The Harvard grad probably had little difficulty getting her new writing job for a project at Amazon. She always loved filmmaking and interned at the notorious Weinstein Co in 2017. Remember when she confronted her dad after catching him smoking in the White House? She was worried about his health. Ironically, it seems she picked up his bad habit – and has been seen smoking herself for a few years – now she’s the one taking smoke breaks at work.

Gabrielle Union knows how to dress for the occasion. She’s in London, on her way to the exclusive Chiltern Firehouse for dinner, and it’s an unusually chilly night. So naturally she tossed on a fire engine red ensemble and she looks adorable. She can also have a bit of a fiery disposition- remember when she appeared as a judge on the 14th season of America’s Got Talent and she couldn’t STAND Simon Cowell’s chain smoking in her presence. She complained, and her contract was NOT renewed for a second year. She spoke freely about the show’s “toxic” environment and is suing them for racism etc. So don’t blow smoke in HER face!

Whoa! SOMEBODY is looking mighty relaxed and comfortable and right at home on Jennifer Lopez’s balcony in Miami! Of course, that SOMEBODY is Ben Affleck. She probably wore him out at the gym today. He hasn’t been working out regularly for awhile and it’s not easy keeping up with J.Lo. Ben is sprawled outside smoking a cigarette and enjoying a cold drink. If this second-time-around relationship lasts awhile, we’re betting health conscious Jennifer will find a way to get Ben to stop smoking…

Sorry to see that Lady Gaga is smoking up storm in Rome after swearing she’d never go back to her two packs a day habit. She vowed she’d “never smoke again” after quitting in 2020, but something about being in Rome changed that. At first we thought her dog kidnapping might have caused to her start again, but her precious dogs were returned. Then we figured her House of Gucci director Ridley Scott might be pushing her awfully hard. But she’s smoking when she’s out having fun at night with friends, so she has only herself to blame for the unfortunate lapse…

LADY GAGA: “PAPARAZZI” ARE THE LEAST OF HER PROBLEMS

Director Ridley Scott must be putting Lady Gaga through the wringer in Italy where they are STILL filming (seems like many months) House of Gucci, and she is FRAZZLED. Carrying the starring role in only her second movie (filled with established successful actors) is daunting in itself. Gaga has pages of dialog to prepare every day, along with hair and wardrobe changes galore. The pressure has gotten to her. Gaga was seen sneaking cigarettes off-camera. This is significant because in 2020 she abruptly quit her two-packs-a-day smoking habit with GREAT difficulty. When the worst was over, she declared that she would NEVER smoke again. House of Gucci made her break that promise to herself. We feel bad for her and hope she will get a grip when this is over.

Simon Cowell admits he is “terrified” of catching coronavirus. He’s been wearing masks every time he leaves the house for WEEKS, and he’s popping vitamins right and left. Why so panicky? Simon is not only 60, but he’s in the habit of smoking 80 cigarettes a day. When Gabrielle Union was fired from AGT, she threatened to sue Simon for “endangering her life” with his illegal smoking on the set. Years of smoking makes Simon a candidate for a very bad virus outcome. Note that Simon is NOT wearing his elevator shoes while riding today with his partner Lauren Silverman, her son Adam Silverman, and their son Eric Cowell.

SIMON COWELL STILL HAS A FATAL FLAW

Simon Cowell, 60, says he had a health scare so he lost 20 pounds by changing his diet to “almost vegan” – he still eats fish. He certainly looked thinner when he showed up at a Britain’s Got Talent event in the UK. He’s getting a hug from fellow judge /British comic David Walliams on the red carpet and Simon looks like he lost a few inches of HEIGHT too! He looks oddly tiny. (He’s still wearing the SAME jeans – just a smaller size!) Although Simon gulps lots of vitamins and eats better, he is still a CHAINSMOKER, and lit up as soon as this photo op was over…
