This is actually a rather flattering photo of Star Jones at the American Music Awards but the devil is in the details. Star is inexplicably wearing a very tight top and black glittery hot pants under that fancy silver coat. A LAWYER in hot pants! Imagine that! It’s a very busy outfit and in no way flattering.

Star Jones is defiant about her right to wear fur so we’re thinking this coat is, indeed, the real thing. But real or faux, fur coats DO tend to add a few pounds. Star looks good, but plumper than usual in the face also, so maybe we can’t blame the fur…
EXCLUSIVE: It’s ironic that Star Jones, who lost half her body weight after gastric bypass surgery, would fall in love with a CHEF, but that’s the case. Since 2008, Star has been dating Herb Wilson, the chef at Soho Grand and Tribeca Grand hotels in New York. She’s not ready to make a public announcement yet, but she has been sharing the news that she’s engaged with her close friends. Apparently Herb didn’t get cold feet after seeing Star’s manipulations on Celebrity Apprentice, so the show will go on!

This season’s Celebrity Apprentice turns out to have more drama and backstabbing than any of the “Housewives” shows and we can’t take our eyes off it. This particular reality show seems to push participants into revealing more about their personalities than we ever imagined. Sure, we expected Star Jones to clash with another BIG personality NeNe Leakes, but who knew she would drag Lisa Rinna over the coals? And Lisa (above, with daughter) revealed her feelings in a number of tweets and emails that insulted Star so much that Star naturally turned to the NBC legal department for help. As juicy as this was, it’s hard to top Dionne Warwick’s arrogance and sense of entitlement. We knew she had some dubious financial dealings (TV psychic business and charity fund raising) but we never knew she could be so MEAN! Bring it on, Donald!
Call us racist, but we can hardly wait to watch the melodrama between Atlanta Housewife NeNe Leakes and Star Jones on Celebrity Apprentice. Apparently the sniping and backstabbing between these two is a large part of the series. Star has said “I don’t like the vitriol and ghetto histrionics that she (Leakes) has been putting out there! It demeans black women and stereotypes them as unprofesional, loud, and uneducated.” NeNe told Wendy Williams that she “wouldn’t spit on Star Jones if she were on fire” and insists that she is a down-to-earth person. This will be a fun feud.
Our New York spy was having lunch at Fred’s at Barneys New York and happened to notice Star Jones at a nearby table. Star was bound into a Herve Leger style “bandage” dress – stretchy strips of fabric sewn together – and painfully tight. Our spy said “I felt sorry for that dress – it was STRAINING and STRETCHING as Star tucked into a big meal and an order of french fries to boot.” And Star wasn’t kidding when she said she liked to be seen with people bigger than she is- her companion was a considerably larger woman.
We get the feeling that Mo’Nique has a Star Jones inspired marriage for two reasons. First of all, Monique insists that her manager/hubby Sidney Hicks LIKES her hairy self. (She admits she’s hairy all over.) He appears to be quite well-groomed himself, so this doesn’t fly. Second, Mo’Nique claims that they have an open marriage and Sidney is allowed to cheat – she doesn’t mind if he has sex outside the marriage. She carefully avoids the mention of other WOMEN so we’re thinking he might be bisexual. And there’s nothing wrong with that – personally, we’d love to have a gay husband – with health insurance.

Divorcees Star Jones and Ivana Trump compared notes and fur coats over lunch on Madison Avenue. Don’t these two New Yorkers know that the REAL reason Hollywood actresses avoid fur is NOT fear of PETA’s red paint, but the fear that fur adds unwanted pounds!
Give the Enquirer credit when it’s due- they reported about Star Jones kicking Al Reynolds out of the house early last February. Apparently she finally got sick of his golfing and working out at the gym while “not contributing financially to the household.” Although Star wouldn’t admit it, the abundant “Big Gay Al” rumors were tormenting her. Al is dropping hints about writing a book, so we’re thinking Star’s going to need an arsenal of legal skills to walk away from this corporately sponsored marriage intact. During her whirlwind courtship, Star should have listened to the advice that CJ of the Star Tribune in Minneapolis sent her: “A man who proposes so soon after meeting you doesn’t want you to know his real personality.”
Star Jones seems to be wallowing in praise since she “came out” and admitted she had gastric bypass surgery in 2003, ignoring the fact that everyone already knew about it and had labeled her a liar. Star claimed she didn’t want to mention the surgery because she didn’t want other people risking their lives to emulate her. REALLY. Lawyer talk. Actually, as the weight rolled off, she enjoyed bragging about her “years of hard work” and her “commitment” – her rigorous exercise programs and strict eating habits. She loved feeling superior to us as she boasted about her swimming and tennis lessons, pilates, and long daily walks. She laid it on thick and made herself appear to be a shining example of self discipline. She sold a lot of books and got tons of publicity. NOW she admits she is a liar. Too late, Star. You lost your credibility a long time ago.
