WHAT DID SCIENTOLOGY HAVE TO DO WITH BEN’S DEATH?

It’s a sad day for Elvis Presley’s family. Lisa Marie Presley’s daughter, actress Riley Keough, posted this photo as a tribute to her brother Benjamin on July 12, the day he died by suicide at the age of 27. (two years ago) She wrote: Not an hour goes by that I don’t think of you and miss you. Benjamin looked a LOT like his grandfather Elvis and was even offered a record contract by Universal at the age of 17. Nothing came of it, and he struggled with drugs, alcohol, and depression. (Apparently the subject of higher education never came up in that Scientology family.) Ben actually BLAMED Scientology for many of his problems. He said it “messes you up.” After he died, his devastated mother Lisa Marie and the rest of his family split from Scientology. He was buried at Graceland.

ELVIS’S GRANDSON WAS CURSED WITH MORE THAN HIS LOOKS AND ADDICTIONS

It seems that Scientology probably had a lot to do with Benjamin Keough’s recent suicide. The 27 year old was raised in the church until his mother Lisa Marie left in 2014 and some say he paid the ultimate price for that involvement. The church does not recognize mental health issues or treatment – the kind of problems that run in his family. Ben was recently in rehab for alcohol and drugs and had a group of friends over to his mother’s luxurious Calabasas house the night he died. (Lisa Marie was not there.) At 3:30 AM there were screams and Ben’s girlfriend Diana Pinto (above) was heard pleading with him NOT to do it. Police reported that he died from a gunshot wound to the upper torso.

SUICIDE: ELVIS PRESLEY’S LOOKALIKE GRANDSON

So sad that Lisa Marie Presley’s son Benjamin Keough, 27, committed suicide in Calabasas. Imagine what it must have been like to be born Elvis Presley’s grandson, and also bear a striking resemblance to him! Certainly there were high expectations for Benjamin and he aspired to be a musician at one time. We get the feeling that Lisa Marie suffered from depression – and probably her father did also. Runs in the family. Eventually Lisa pulled herself together and quit Scientology – a radical move. It’s a family tragedy.

ELIZABETH HURLEY’S SON DAMIAN JUST BECAME EVEN MORE DESIRABLE

The suicide of wealthy playboy Steve Bing, 55, is a shock and a tragedy. He apparently jumped out the window of his 27th floor apartment in LA. He was quite a character – addicted to movies (he produced) and women. He was a regular at the Playboy mansion and NOT interested in marriage and children. In fact, he was disappointed when his friends got married, settled down, and became “boring.” Never a show-off – he drove a beat-up old car and dressed in jeans and t-shirts. When his ex-girlfriend Elizabeth Hurley announced she was pregnant with his child, he made her prove it. The result was her 18 year old gorgeous model son Damian – he inherited his mother’s looks and now, his father’s millions…

L’WREN SCOTT AND KATE SPADE CHOSE THE SAME WAY OUT: COINCIDENCE?

Ever since Mick Jagger’s 6’ 3” financially challenged designer/girlfriend L’Wren Scott hanged herself from a doorknob with an Hermes scarf, we have been incredibly curious to find out HOW this is done! We just can’t PICTURE the physical nature of this act. And now another fashion icon has taken her own life EXACTLY the same sad but mysterious way. Likeable Kate Spade chose the same unthinkable suicide method. Why would this solution be chosen over pills?

Jackie Collins Suicide

JACKIE COLLINS: PHYSICIAN ASSISTED SUICIDE?

Jackie Collins did the world a favor by talking about why she SHOULD have gotten regular mammograms because it might have saved her life. She talked about her cancer for the first time in her big interview with People magazine and died five days later. A coincidence? We think not. Jackie had just returned from London where she appeared on TV and told her sister Joan about her disease. Usually people in the last weeks of terminal illness are in NO condition to travel or appear on TV. We think Jackie had everything carefully timed. When she started feeling awful, instead of taking to her bed, she chose to end her own life. Gracefully. She avoided weeks or months of pain and anguish for her family. Jackie is our hero. It’s too bad that physician assisted suicide is not yet legal in California because this news cannot be publicized. We need to speed up the legal process and make this choice available for all Californians. It’s the civilized way to die.

ROBIN WILLIAMS’ SUICIDE: WHY HE DID IT IS SUDDENLY CRYSTAL CLEAR

The missing piece to the Robin Williams puzzle has surfaced at last. His suicide inspired many discussions of why a person SO fortunate in SO many ways would entertain the notion of suicide. Depression can be treated. Substance abuse can be treated. And he had a loving family to support him throughout. But Parkinson’s Disease cannot be cured. And it can be more devastating than Alzheimer’s. Robin’s wife just mentioned the Parkinsons diagnosis today, and didn’t think it had any effect on Robin’s death. She was wrong. It’s an awful degenerative disease that destroys quality of life. Combine that diagnosis with Robin’s other problems and you’ve got the answer. So sad.

We’re hearing that L’Wren Scott probably had more to fear than simply the embarrassment of shutting down her clothing business declaring bankruptcy. Fashion insiders say that a bankruptcy would invite close inspection of books and examination of financial records. EXACTLY where all the money went. Everything would be made public. Perhaps L’Wren dreaded having many details of her business practices and spending habits revealed and felt she couldn’t live it down. Maybe she had something to hide.

L’WREN SCOTT SUICIDE: HOW DOES A 6′ 3″ WOMAN HANG HERSELF FROM A DOORKNOB?

SO many questions about the tragic L’Wren Scott suicide. First of all, how and why she killed herself with an Hermes scarf and a doorknob is a huge mystery. What kind of acrobatics are involved? Why wouldn’t she just take pills? Had her boyfriend Mick Jagger broken her heart? Was she distraught over turning 50 next month? We happened to ride the Barneys elevator with L’Wren a few years ago and we remember that she was extremely tall, nicely dressed, and quiet. Her boyfriend Mick gave her notoriety and a huge career boost. Until more details emerge, this is a real mystery.

Drugs Lawsuit Paris Jackson Suicide

DID THE JACKSON TRIAL CAUSE PARIS TO ATTEMPT SUICIDE?

The Jackson family was WARNED it would open up a big can of worms if they proceeded with their lawsuit against AEG Live, charging that the company’s negligence caused Michael Jackson’s death. Many negative things about Michael’s life – his drug addiction and child molestations charges, in particular – would be brought up and examined. NOT a good thing for his surviving children. But the Jackson family was determined to make AEG PAY for Michael’s death. An AEG executive described the lawsuit as “extortion.” Certainly Paris and her brothers were shocked to learn that their beloved father was a raging drug addict. Who knows what their school friends have been whispering. Paris, 15, has grown up without a mother – until recently when she sought a friendship with her birth mother, Debbie Rowe. This greed inspired trial could easily have contributed to Paris’s despair.
