RIHANNA IS NOT ALWAYS RIGHT

Uh -oh. We were afraid this might happen. It looks like Rihanna’s “celebration of pregnancy” look has caught on. When Rihanna was expecting she started wearing VERY skimpy outfits that exposed and played up her expanding midsection. Many times the get-ups were TOO skimpy and in questionable taste- especially for occasions like elegant restaurants. This IS a red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival, but Brazilian supermodel Adriana Lima sorely lacks elegance and looks more like a belly dancer than a supermodel here. Using Rihanna as a role model is not always a good idea. This look will be hard to forget…

Here’s a VERY ORDINARY looking New York couple enjoying Central Park on an almost Spring day. Nobody paid them any attention, and that’s the way they like it. Supermodel Bella Hadid and her undercover boyfriend, art director Marc Kalman, have been together for two years pretty much in plain sight, but without fanfare. When she dated The Weeknd they rarely had a fleeting moment to themselves. But Bella has learned how to minimize her beauty (even without a mask) and not draw attention to herself and her 8 years older boyfriend so they can get around unmolested. They met while working on a fashion project and have been seen together in Paris and New York – friends think she’s quite fond of him.

CLAUDIA SCHIFFER’S HUSBAND IS SENSITIVE ABOUT HEIGHT

We’ve seen a lot of 90’s Supermodels making comebacks – but what happened to Claudia Schiffer? The Bardot lookalike model dated, of all people, magician David Copperfield for most of the 90’s (he sometimes had her assist in his act,) and when they finally broke up in 1999, she dropped out of sight. Actually she left David for British producer/director Matthew Vaughn. He established himself producing Guy Ritchie’s early successful films and went on to do X-Men and Kingsman movies. Vaughn and Claudia married in 2002 and what’s strange is: he never cast her in films or made her a star! Isn’t that why aspiring actresses marry producers? Obviously they were in love, and had three kids. She made a rare appearance at the premier of his new film The Kings Man and we had to laugh at how short she makes him look. Claudia is 5’11” and wearing flats – Matthew CLAIMS to be 6’ tall but this photo is a dead giveaway…

Androgynous Supermodel Twiggy

TWIGGY QUIT MODELING, BUT NEVER STOPPED WORKING

Janice Dickinson is fond of bragging that she was the “first Supermodel,” but in actuality the first supermodels were probably Jean Shrimpton and Twiggy (above) in the 60’s. Twiggy was only 16 when she became world famous for her pixie haircut and super slim androgynous looks. In 1970 she quit modeling and turned to acting in movies and TV. Now 69, she’s still very involved in the beauty business and works with Marks & Spencer on fashion collections for women her age.

Nice to see one of our favorite 90’s Supermodels still looking super! Claudia Schiffer’s sexy ads put Guess jeans on the map back in 1989 – and she says they put HER on the map too. We remember seeing her on billboards EVERYWHERE. She did a total of six ad campaigns for the company and her career took off from there. She married X-Men writer Matthew Vaughn fifteen years ago and they have three children, but the German-born model is still as beautiful as ever.
