SYLVESTER STALLONE AND HENRY WINKLER AS THEY ONCE WERE

One of our all time favorite movies is the 1974 film The Lords of Flatbush because it’s about Brooklyn greasers in the fifties and we have always had a weakness for greasers. Sylvester Stallone starred in his first film with Henry Winkler and Perry King. Flatbush was filmed right before Henry got his greaser role on Happy Days, so this movie might have been his big break. Right now Sly is filming his reality show The Family Stallone and he invited Henry to have lunch with him at Mulberry Street Pizza In Beverly Hills so they could film a scene (and perhaps reminisce) for his new series…

WHAT SYLVESTER STALLONE DID TO WIN HIS WIFE BACK

Jennifer Flavin played hardball before she agreed to reconcile with her estranged husband Sylvester Stallone. He had to agree to a number of changes in their relationship, and one change was particularly interesting. Sly is 22 years older than his model wife so in addition to working out and cosmetic procedures, he dyed his hair shoe polish black for years to look younger. According to a friend of the couple, Jennifer insisted that Sly STOP dying his hair because she thought it looked fake and unflattering. Sly agreed and now he’s sporting a full head of gray hair!

SYLVESTER STALLONE: HOW DID HE DO IT?

Women in Hollywood have been tormented for their surgically enhanced looks for years, so anytime we can poke fun at a Hollywood guy- we do- just to even the playing field. The Daily Mail published these two photos of Sylvester Stallone. The pic on the left shows a youthful looking Sly promoting his new Tulsa King series on Australian TV just a few days ago – his skin looks remarkably smooth and youthful. The photo on the right is from a few years back and Sly looks natural and somewhat older. Did Stallone have some cosmetic procedure? Or is it photoshopping- or just good lighting? JCH wants to know…

BRIGITTE NIELSEN: IT’S A LONG STORY

Against all odds, Brigitte Nielsen is living happily ever after. Back in the 80’s she was a hot commodity- she started out as a model and landed the leading role in Red Sonja with Arnold Schwarzenegger. In 1985 they had a fling during filming and the next year she married Arnold’s rival (her Cobra costar) Sylvester Stallone. After a total of four husbands and four sons she confessed she had an alcohol problem and entered rehab. Fast forward to 2006 – she married cute (fifteen years younger) Italian waiter Mattia Dessi. She struggled with infertility until she miraculously became pregnant at 55, and gave birth to daughter Frida, now 4. Brigitte and Mattia are still married and living with Frida in Palm Springs.

Arnold Schwarzenegger Father Nazi Rivals Sylvester Stallone

STALLONE: NO LONGER A KNOW-IT-ALL?

Sylvester Stallone did a surprisingly candid interview with James Hibbard at The Hollywood Reporter, and it brought back some memories. Sly admitted that he was obnoxious and “thought he knew everything” when he became successful. Back in the day, his biggest competitor was Arnold Schwarzenegger- (it so happens I introduced them when we were all walking out of a screening in the late 70’s.) They became rivals and Arnold admitted to faking interest in a dud movie (Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot) to lure Sly into pouncing on the role. Sly went so far as to pay a UK writer to write a book about Arnold’s father, who was a Nazi, figuring it would kill his career. (It didn’t, and Arnold is quite the opposite of his father) Now that both actors are older – they realize they have a lot in common and are good friends. They like smoking cigars together.

Bodyguards Height Height Challenged Sylvester Stallone

IS SYLVESTER STALLONE A TOUGH GUY?

Sylvester Stallone has long been somewhat obsessed with his height. His true height is somewhere between 5’8” and the 5’11” that he claims. We remember years back when he was making a movie at a film studio, and he sent someone out to look for male extras for a scene with him. It didn’t matter what they looked like – they just had to be shorter than him! Like that OTHER action star, Tom Cruise, Sly buys elevator shoes from expensive Italian shoemakers, although he IS credited with being the first actor to wear built up sneakers. So we were surprised to see this photo of Sly shopping in Rome with a couple of friends and several bodyguards who are ALL bigger than he is, in spite of his heeled cowboy boots… It also makes you wonder why Sly NEEDS bodyguards…

Divorce Dog Jennifer Flavin Rottweiler Sylvester Stallone

SYLVESTER STALLONE: CAN THIS MARRIAGE BE SAVED?

Quite suddenly, Sylvester Stallone has a new bed partner. His wife Jennifer Flavin filed for divorce after Sly brought home a Rottweiler named Dwight. Although Dwight has had professional training, Jennifer was NOT happy with Sly’s fierce and macho dog. She already has three small fluffy pups (above) and she’s justifiably terrified that Dwight might hurt them. Jennifer is SO attached to her dogs that she captioned their photo “my children’s replacement.” (Her three cute daughters are grown up now and pretty much out of the house.) Apparently Dwight was the last straw for the Stallone’s 25 year marriage. The pooch is now free to share Sly’s bed and Jennifer no longer has to endure Sly’s cigar smoke or being asked not to wear high heels…

Annabella Sciorra Mafia Sylvester Stallone Tulsa King

TULSA KING: MAFIA FAMILY MOVES FROM NYC TO OKLAHOMA

Tulsa King is a new series filming in NYC for Paramount and it looks like it might be fun. Certainly Sylvester Stallone is already in character to play a mob boss. He plays a mobster who got out of prison after 25 years and is exiled to begin anew in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He sets out to build up his criminal empire and finds himself a fish out of water in this totally foreign place, dealing with the locals. Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan came up with this idea- and it’s very male oriented, so far out of 20 cast members, only one is female. Annabella Sciorra, (remember, she was one of the brave women who got Harvey Weinstein locked up) above, was shooting this scene with Stallone so she must be a recent addition. Stallone is all puffed up and ready for his cue, it appears…

SYLVESTER STALLONE: AN ABUNDANCE OF VALENTINES

Against all odds, Sylvester Stallone managed to have three daughters – who ALL happen to be beautiful. Certainly, none of them resemble Rocky – they inherited most of their looks from their model mother Jennifer Flavin. Oldest daughter Sophia, 25, graduated from USC and has a make-up and fashion collection. She also has a podcast with sister Sistine , 23, who is already a working actress. Scarlet, 19, just graduated from high school and is a social media influencer. Proud dad Sly posted this photo on Valentines Day “To All My Valentine Girls”

SYLVESTER STALLONE: NOT ALWAYS AS SWEET AS HE LOOKS

Sylvester Stallone celebrated his 75th birthday this week and says he is MOST grateful for his family. He was smart to marry model Jennifer Flavin back in 1997, because they had 3 beautiful daughters who look nothing like their father. Back in the day when he was an action hero, Stallone was VERY competitive with Arnold Schwarzenegger. In fact we heard he went so far as to pay a UK journalist to write about Arnold’s father having been a nazi, in hopes of damaging his career. It didn’t, but eventually Sly calmed down and he and Arnold became friends – all was forgiven.
