TAYLOR MOMSEN WASN’T KIDDING WHEN SHE QUIT ACTING TO BECOME A ROCK STAR

Remember back in 2010 when everyone gasped because teenager Taylor Momsen quit her hit series Gossip Girl to become a rock star? Observers predicted she would live to regret her decision – but in fact, she hasn’t! Singer/songwriter Taylor is STILL performing with her band The Pretty Reckless, that she put together in 2009. Taylor, now 24, says she doesn’t miss acting at all, and the band has released 3 albums with enough success to keep them touring almost nonstop. Taylor’s band is particularly popular in Europe and made enough money to invest in a fancy new tour bus.

Taylor Momsen, 21, meant it when she quit “Gossip Girl” in 2012 and said she wanted to perform with her band “Pretty Reckless” full time. She’s been touring nonstop ever since (her band even opened for Marilyn Manson) and hasn’t been tempted to return to acting. Above, she’s arriving at the Wiltern Theater for her concert and we have a rare glimpse of her with no makeup on.

Thanks to Madonna, Kelly Osbourne looks quite fetching in her new Macy’s ads for the Material Girl collection, although her look is not particularly provocative. Apparently the store shied away from Taylor Momsen’s hard core raccoon eyes persona and wanted a softer more teen (and MOM) friendly feeling. Kelly looks a lot sweeter than usual. Now it’s clear why Kelly replaced Taylor.

We were WONDERING why Madonna fired former “Gossip Girl” Taylor Momsen as spokesperson for her Material Girl clothing line after only a few months – it turns out Taylor foolishly blabbed that the line looked to her like “clothing worn by a high class hooker.” Madonna was outraged because the collection is aimed at teens, and she immediately replaced Taylor with Kelly Osbourne. Her band played at the Paper magazine party and during the show she flashed her seventeen year old bare chest with gaffer’s tape on her nipples. Very Courtney Love. In her quest for a “bad girl” image, Kesha, 23, has acquired a removable gold tooth, not unlike the gold tooth Madonna sported in the early 90’s. Back in the 80’s you could buy “gold” teeth on 42nd street for around five dollars for immediate gratification. Kesha (Tik Tok) and Taylor Momsen,17, (Pretty Reckless) are hell-bent on creating debauched rockstar images for themselves by whatever means possible. They’re terrified of being regarded as white-bread pop stars like Britney Spears. Amy Winehouse is much cooler.
