STEVE CARELL: ANOTHER CHARACTER YOU LOVE TO HATE

Steve Carell changed his appearance for “Foxcatcher” last year and it got him an Oscar nomination, so why not try it again? He’s playing a slimy money manager who profited enormously from the 2007 economic meltdown in “The Big Short” currently filming New York. Steve highlighted his hair, gained a few pounds, put on an expensive suit, and assumed a vile attitude to get into character. The movie comes out next year.

Eva Mendes Ryan Gosling The Big Short

THE MYSTERIOUS WORLD OF RYAN GOSLING

Ryan Gosling cleans up VERY nicely for scenes in “The Big Short” which is filming at the New Orleans airport.(No sweatpants!) He plays one of those millionaire profiteers from the economic collapse. His relationship with Eva Mendes remains a mystery. Are they even living together with their new baby Esmeralda? When Eva talks about caring for the baby she never says “we” as if Ryan is also involved. Hopefully their romance will continue now that they are parents, but they ARE awfully secretive.

RYAN GOSING STILL HAS A SENSE OF HUMOR

Ryan Gosling isn’t taking himself too seriously as he leaves Paris on his way back to New Orleans where he’s filming “The Big Short.” He’s costarring with Brad Pitt and Christian Bale in what appears to be an all male cast of a financial drama documenting the corrupt men who caused the financial crisis of 2007. Brad’s Plan B company is producing the true story based on a bestselling book. Another reason to elect more women and promote them in business.
