TIFFANY HADDISH IS LOOKING FOR A STAND-UP GUY

Have to admit we were HUGELY disappointed in Tiffany Haddish when we heard about her reaction to Will Smith slapping Chris Rock at the Oscars. Tiffany swooned that the slap was “the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen!” She went on to explain that she was thrilled to see a Black man stand up for his wife and she was happy to know “There are still men out there who CARE about their women.” We totally disagreed with her point of view, but it led us to start thinking about the men in her life. Maybe she never had a guy who stood up for her! Keep in mind, she had split with her quarantine partner Common shortly before the Oscars and she emphasized that they did NOT break up because of (that old stand-by) “conflicting schedules.” We’re guessing Common just was not a stand-up guy for her. It’s a good thing Tiffany Haddish has this cute new blonde look because it takes people’s minds off her unfortunate remarks after The Slap. Tiffany was one of the FIRST people to talk about Will Smith’s Oscar behavior immediately after it happened, and her reaction to the situation was VERY different than most reasonable people. Tiffany swooned “It was a beautiful moment – – a Black man stood up for his wife! It meant so much to me to think there are still men out there who care about their women- that’s what a husband is supposed to do, right?” We really like Tiffany, but she was WRONG in every way. TIFFANY HADDISH: THE HARDER I WORK, THE LUCKIER I GET!

Tiffany Haddish’s lucky streak just keeps on going…In the past few years she has lost 50 pounds, (thru diet and exercise – not surgery!) she gave up smoking, and she became a full-fledged movie star. Not only that but her love life continues to flourish with her boyfriend Common. They were often seen together at BLM demonstrations. Now Tiffany is at the Venice Film Festival where the “revenge thriller” she stars in, The Card Counter, is in competition. Directer Paul Schrader is known for the intensity of his films so it was a surprise when Tiffany was cast – she plays a professional gambler’s agent and adds a bit of levity to the hard-edge drama.

“LIKE A BOSS” WRITERS KNOW NOTHING ABOUT WOMEN

The new comedy Like a Boss starts out with an arresting premise: female college buddies start a creative cosmetic business that prospers. Tiffany Haddish and Rose Byrne are the owners and Jennifer Coolidge and Billy Porter are employees –sounds like FUN, right? Hopes for fun are dashed by the dreadful script. Women would LOVE to identify and root for these characters and the stellar actors try their BEST, but the brainless script is downright embarrassing. The plot meanders, the dialog is raunchy and trite, and will somebody please tell these male writers that when female friends get together they don’t talk about vaginas all night! Salma Hayek REALLY overacts- even the music is lame. We pity the cast that has to go around promoting this well-intentioned but awful, movie.

TIFFANY HADDISH AND HER LOUSY EXCUSE FOR WEARING FUR

A few months age, Tiffany Haddish posted a photo of herself wearing a fur vest on Instagram, happily explaining “I’m going to wear fur every day until the police stop killing black >people. So sorry PETA, don’t be mad at me – be mad at the police!” Kareem Abdul Jabbar questioned the connection between wearing fur and stopping police brutality against people of color in The Hollywood Reporter. He pointed out ”Those committing brutality against other humans aren’t going to be concerned about brutality against animals. And how does needlessly harming an animal for no other reason than to gild one’s ego improve humanity? Jabbar finds Tiffany “charming and talented” but he felt her form of free speech might make the public take the issue of police brutality less seriously. And he doesn’t like the idea of wearing fur, either…

THE MOVIE “KITCHEN” HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH FOOD

Just seeing this photo of Tiffany Haddish, Melissa McCarthy, and Elizabeth Moss in their 1970’s attire filming Kitchen in New York, got us interested in seeing the movie. It’s a comedy/drama about three Hell’s Kitchen mob wives who take over their husbands’ rackets when the mobsters are sent to prison. AND the film was written and directed by a woman – Andrea Berloff. We always have higher expectations for movies made by women – the characters seem more relatable.

Kitchen is about three mob wives in 1970’s Hell’s Kitchen who take over running their husbands rackets when the guys go to prison. It’s hard to imagine these women NOT being funny, but we shall see…
