NEVER A DULL MOMENT WITH SHIA LA BEOUF

We got interested in Shia LaBeouf years ago when we learned that Megan Fox had a giant crush on her Transformers costar. What was the appeal? Shia turned out to be QUITE a character. Besides being a fascinating actor, his off-camera antics have always been noteworthy. (During a Broadway performance of Cabaret, Shia impulsively jumped onstage right into a bar scene and patted Alan Cumming on the butt) He’s been arrested a few times for disorderly conduct and very honestly discussed his problems with alcohol on talk shows. His intense movie Honey Boy told the story of his youth as a child actor with an abusive father. (He got his father to sign off on the film by telling him his favorite actor Mel Gibson would be playing him.) Shia ended up playing his own awful father with gusto. Above, Shia, 33, is staying in shape for his next project…whatever that might be.

ANGRY YOUNG MAN SHIA LEBEOUF FINDS TIME FOR HIS FANS

Shia LaBeouf turned up at the same New York premier as Ireland Baldwin – after her father Alec got him fired from the Broadway play in which they were costarring. Transformers star Shia has dated some beautiful women – including Megan Fox, Carey Mulligan, and Isabel Lucas, but he never really seems happy. He appears to take himself rather seriously and he’s had tangles with the law, car accidents, and boozy bar fights. (At least he acknowledges his fans, above) Are we crazy or is his hair thinning on top?

MEGAN FOX AND MICHAEL BAY HAVE CALLED A TRUCE

We backed Megan Fox when she called out “Transformers” director Michael Bay for being the obnoxious cad we’ve always heard he was. Bay is notorious for his huge ego and condescending treatment of women. Fox compared Bay to Hitler and said he was a nightmare to work for. We’ve heard worse. Bey pretended to brush it off but he got even by firing her very publicly from the third Transformers movie. According to Deadline.com, Bay just announced that Megan will star in his live action feature “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.” Maybe Bay finally realized Megan was right – or maybe he just got over himself. Anyway, it’s a good thing.

CHRIS O’DOWD SLAMS SKEEVY MICHAEL BAY AND WINS THE HEARTS OF HOLLYWOOD WOMEN

We were first smitten with Irish actor Chris O’Dowd when we saw him in Bridesmaids. He’s the sweetheart kind of guy that women remember. We like him even better now that he’s standing up for his “Friends With Kids” costar Megan Fox. Megan had a falling out with her Transformers director Michael Bay and was fired for speaking out against his treatment of women. (Note: producer Steven Spielberg was on Bay’s side.) The lascivious foul-mouthed Michael Bay is known for being reverential toward his male stars and sexist and demeaning toward his female actors. So men don’t complain about him. His deafening and plotless disaster movies appeal to sixteen year old boys. Nobody stood up for Megan when she criticized Bay and was fired. Until Chris O’Dowd. Chris thinks Megan was badly treated and RIGHT to complain. Chris agreed that “Bay is an a—hole” and added that he would never watch his films, much less act in them.

In fact we went a step further and told you that Megan harbored a massive CRUSH on Shia and would have dropped her fiancee Brian Austin Green in a minute for Shia, but her costar never took their fling as seriously as she did. For awhile she was in an agony of indecision over whether to stay with Brian or not. As it turns out, she probably married the right guy- Brian seems good for her.

Megan Fox has to be feeling queasy since her “Transformers 3” replacement Rosie Huntington-Whiteley has been getting SO much attention. (Above, in Victoria’s Secret ad) When Megan (foolishly or bravely- take your pick) stood up to Transformers director Michael Bay and called him a tyrant on the set and compared him to Hitler, she stepped over the line. Lingerie model Rosie was quickly selected to replace Megan as Shia LaBeouf’s love interest in the third Transformers movie and that was that. Megan’s other bigscreen efforts have been bombs, so watching Rosie’s career flourish is no fun. Cheer up, Megan, you might be perfect to star in the Elizabeth Taylor movie.

We’re not at ALL surprised that Megan Fox suddenly decided to marry Brian Austin Green. (A tiny ceremony, June 24, at the Four Seasons Hotel in Hawaii.) Gorgeous Megan seems to have lost all her self-confidence and she took the easy and safe way out. She was madly in love with her Transformers costar Shia LaBeouf, but that didn’t work out, and she returned to her longtime BF Brian. It was a shock when she lost her lucrative Transformers 3 job so easily and was REPLACED so quickly by Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. Then her movie “Jonah Hex” flopped miserably last week. It was all too much – the insecure Megan grabbed her life support – the reliable Brian, who’s more than willing to take care of her.

Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox are leaving Paris here on a private jet for the next stop on their promotional tour for Transformer 2. Since Megan just admitted to a London paper that she is “single,” we wonder if she and Shia will return from this trip as more than “just friends.” (Remember that’s what happened when Hayden Panettiere and Milo Ventimiglia went on a European PR tour for “Heroes.“)

Megan Fox attended the Transformers 2 premier in Paris and she wanted to shop and run around the city for the short time she was there. So she dressed DOWN in simple casual clothes and no make up and slipped out of the hotel without security guards making a fuss. She DID manage to have a little time to herself before she was noticed.
