Photos from the UK reveal all the busy shopping neighborhoods and sightseeing spots shut down, but we were mesmerized by this photo of the empty subway. The lack of passengers wasn’t surprising – we were amazed because this subway car is so clean and shiny and pleasant to look at. Actually inviting! New York subways NEVER looked like this- not even on the first day they opened! So I guess we have a case of subway envy…

Leave it to Mickey Rourke to come up with a fool-proof way to keep from losing his passport or credit cards no matter how hard he parties in the UK. He’s wearing a little purse around his neck. Mickey has been spending a lot of time clubbing in London before he starts filming The Expendables 3 with the same cast of old-timers. Above, he’s leaving the club DSTRKT and returning to his hotel.

Lisa Marie Presley is back in Hollywood promoting her new album Storm and Grace and she explained why she picked up and moved to the English countryside where she’s been writing songs and recording for the past eight months. Lisa said she suddenly felt she was surrounded by a a rather poisonous entourage of people who agreed with anything she said and catered to her every need. She enjoys living in England among “real people.” We can’t help but wonder if she is slyly referring to the Scientologists that always hovered around her. Scientology isn’t so welcome in the UK so that’s a good place to escape from it, if one wants to. Wouldn’t it be nice if she denounced the cult? Snoop Dogg is in the UK promoting his album “Doggumentary,” and he held his press conference at Platinum Lace – a strip club in London. In 2006, Snoop was banned from entering the UK because his entourage got into a brawl with security guards at Heathrow airport, but he has since been reinstated. Snoop announced that he is working on putting together a TV show directed at the hood- to give kids with talent but no money, a chance. He also remarked that he’d like to open a chain of grocery stores called “Snoopermarkets.” He’s more ambitious that we realized…

Freshly tanned DJ Pauly D is pictured here arriving at Heathrow airport, and he obviously travels light. He and Vinny are in the UK to promote the next season of “Jersey Shore.” Yes, it’s a hit there, too. The guys are excited because it’s their first time in London and besides doing talk shows, they will be judging a “Miss Jersey Shore UK” contest! Maybe they’ll even have time to hit a few clubs…
Lisa Marie Presley had no complaints about the harsh weather in the UK when she returned to Los Angeles with her family for a visit. Lisa Marie and her husband Michael Lockwood moved to the English countryside last year after Lisa decided she didn’t want to raise her two year old twins Harper and Finley, in Los Angeles. She looks healthy and nicely dressed so the move seems to agree with her. We’re guessing she’s living close to a Scientology center there.
Pamela Anderson looks great and seems to be thriving in the UK where she’s appearing as the Genie in Alladin onstage at the Empire Theater. Although one critic noted that “her talent is smaller than her bust,” he allowed that she is a “good sport” and added humor to the show. (And certainly boosted ticket sales.) Pam took time to visit a local children’s hospital in her Genie costume.
