ELLEN DEGENERES AND PORTIA DE ROSSI ARE OPENING A VEGAN RESTAURANT

Ellen DeGeneres and Portia DeRossi are looking for real estate in Montecito, California. But this time they don’t want a house to flip, they’re looking for a location to open up a vegan restaurant. Although they still have a place in Los Angeles, the two women spend most of their time in Montecito, where they call Oprah Winfrey, Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle their neighbors. The moneyed neighborhood has some very high-end restaurants, but Portia and Ellen are NOT thrilled with the vegan options. They’re working with a private chef and hope to partner up and open up a place on Coast Village Road later this year.

The Grammy winning performer isn’t planning a shopping spree, but she IS working on her own line of vegan food that she’s planning to launch this year. Billie grew up in a family of vegans so she has years of experience working with plant-based foods and she KNOWS what tastes good. From snacks to prepared meals, nut-based cheese to avocado muffins, Billie and her crew are tweaking her product line, while working on packaging and production. She has a loyal following, so she just might become the next Paul Newman of grocery products.

Animal Rescue Rob Zombie Vegan

ROB ZOMBIE: LOOKS ARE DECEIVING

You can’t help but notice Rob Zombie shopping with his wife Sheri Moon in Hollywood. At first glance you might think he’s just another homeless guy or demented hillbilly, but Rob is an accomplished musician/director who specializes in shock-rock theatricality. The hair and beard aren’t doing him any favors – at 56, he’s actually younger than Brad Pitt, but looks decades older. He DOES have a soft spot- in 1982, he became an “ethical vegan” after seeing footage from a slaughterhouse and now he cares for rescued farm animals on a Connecticut property he owns.

LEWIS HAMILTON WORRIES ABOUT THE PLANET

Formula One racing champion Lewis Hamilton is a huge celebrity in the UK, and in one way, he’s a bit like our Leonardo DiCaprio. Lewis proudly announced that he’s been vegan for several years – doesn’t eat meat or fish to protect the environment. He points out the cows have a shockingly negative effect on the atmosphere. Does he think about how much pollution is caused by all the races he partakes in? Worst of all, Lewis admits that sometimes he flies his dog ALONE back and forth from his Malibu home to his UK home in his PRIVATE JET.

Beyoncé Diet Jay Z Vegan

PASS THE BROWN RICE – HERE COMES BEYONCE!

SOME people turn into monsters when they’re on a special diet, but not Beyonce. At least, so far. When her husband Jay-Z decided to eat vegan for 22 days starting December 4, she joined in. But it’s not easy. Beyonce has a passion for wings and ribs, and it’s quite a change eating broccoli and grains instead. To keep herself in check, Beyonce encouraged everyone around her to try the diet too, and if they didn’t, she asked them to please keep tempting foods out of her sight. (Above, she and Jay-Z were seen leaving Crossroads vegan restaurant in Los Angeles.)

ELLEN AND PORTIA’S DOGS ARE VEGAN TOO

Not only are Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi both vegans, but they have cats and a dogs at home that are vegans also. Feeding themselves is not difficult, especially since they are opening a vegan restaurant in the San Fernando Valley on Ventura Blvd. Finding appropriate pet food with no animal byproducts is not as easy. So now Ellen and Portia are looking into coming out with a complete line of vegan pet food.
