ZOOEY DESCHANEL: SHE’S LOOKS LESS LIKE A “NEW GIRL” – AND MORE LIKE A “NEW WOMAN!”

AG088771_01zoo

When we think of Zooey Deschanel we always think of that pert brunette with the bangs and blue, blue eyes. She GREW UP overnight! Of course, she’s a wife now with a baby daughter (Elsie Otter) born in July. Gone are the bangs and babydoll dresses. Zooey is dressed up like a New York matron in a furry jacket, Chanel bag on her arm, and a sensible hairdo. Is this what becoming a mom does to you?

ZOOEY DESCHANEL AND TOMMY HILFIGER HAD AN IDEA

New Girl Zooey Deschanel is MORE than just an actress- she brainstormed with Tommy Hilfiger to come up with her own ”capsule “ collection of 29 items called “To Tommy From Zooey.” It includes dresses (under $200) shoes, handbags, etc. Zooey’s designs will be available at Macy’s on April 14 and online after that. We have a feeling she’ll be wearing a lot of her own dresses this summer…

Some girls have all the luck. Not only does Zooey Deschanel have a hit TV show (“New Girl”) but she’s also collaborating with Tommy Hilfiger as a designer. According to WWD, her vintage inspired dress collection of 16 pieces labeled “To Tommy From Zooey” will retail for $100 to $200 at Macy’s in April. Hilfiger gushes that Zooey reminds him of Audrey Hepburn and the dresses will be “preppy American classics” with a 60’s twist.

BUT HOW DID ZOOEY DESCHANEL LOOK AT THE END OF THE NIGHT?

We did a double-take when we saw Zooey Deschanel at the Emmys. She looks uncharacteristically sophisticated, but also quite beautiful. Having been to many awards shows, it occurred to us that hers must be a difficult dress to wear for such a long evening – how do you keep the wrinkles out? How do you sit down for hours on end? How do you party afterward?

ZOOEY DESCHANEL PLANS TO BAKE THE PERFECT CAKE FOR 2013

#zooeydeschanel #janetcharlton

“The New Girl” Zooey Deschanel is obviously insecure about her cooking skills so she brought her big cookbook, open to a cake page, to Gelson’s market while shopping for ingredients. She aims to impress SOMEBODY with her fancy New Years cake, and that somebody might be her new boyfriend screenwriter Jamie Linden. It’s chilly in Los Angeles and those are ear muffs she’s wearing with her pea coat.

THE SHOW MUST GO ON FOR “THE NEW GIRL” ZOOEY DESCHANEL

In spite of the fact that her show “The New Girl” won’t be airing again until November, Zooey Deschanel is hard at work on the set, except when she’s taking a snack break, above. The X-Factor will have extended two hour episodes (?) and that’s why Zooey’s hit show has been pushed to next month. Hopefully, her fans will remember her and tune in again.

WOULD YOU WATCH “WHEEL OF FORTUNE” IN 3D?

Maybe James Cameron opened a can of worms with his updated version of 3D. Now TV is jumping on the bandwagon and the first jumpers appear to be – of all things – game shows. Most of the game shows like “The Price Is Right” have been around for decades and producers are desperate to make them hipper without changing the basic elements so loved by their fans. “Wheel Of Fortune” has already filmed a 3D example of the show and they’re seriously discussing “keeping the show fresh” by offering 3D. They must be hoping to attract a young audience. 3D TV’s are already being sold and it’s predicted that 4.3 million will be in circulation by the end of this year. Imagine Vanna and Pat spinning that wheel in 3D.

(500) DAYS OF SUMMER IS THE ROMANTIC COMEDY YOU’VE BEEN WAITING FOR

2009_500_days_of_summer_cut

At last! A modern romantic comedy with some semblance to real life! In the real world, love isn’t always the same for both parties. There’s no explaining it. You have KNOWN these people and might have survived their angst and unrealistic youthful expectations yourself. Joseph Gordon-Levitt (3rd Rock from the Sun) is naturally appealing as a Tom Hanks “every man” who believes in true love. Zooey Deschanel is perfectly cast as the offbeat object of his affection. The ending is delightfully familiar, but not unrealistic. This is a great summer movie for smart romanticists who are weary of special effects. s
