CHRISTIAN BALE ISN’T KIDDING ABOUT GETTING INTO CHARACTER

Having recently seen Christian Bale looking gaunt in “Out of the Furnace,” we were floored by this photo of him in his soon to be released movie “American Hustle.” In two months he ate enough cheeseburgers to gain forty pounds. That, and shaving off his hair into a greasy comb-over, turned him into a very unappealing 1970’s con-man. Ever since Robert De Niro gained all that weight to play Jake La Motta in “Raging Bull,” younger actors have been following in his footsteps, with visions of Oscars dancing in their heads. Somehow we can’t picture Brad Pitt ever doing that.

  1. Brad Pitt can only dream about being as good as Bale. I so enjoy every role that Christian takes on. For fun, watch him in Empire of the Sun or Newsies and see how he becomes the part, even as a child.

  2. I’ve always found him hugely unattractive, especially in this latest photo!

  3. They filmed part of American Hustle in my hometown. Some of the media students from the high school were invited to watch the film making process. It was said that Christian Bale couldn’t have been nicer to the students. Many expected to see Batman but got this overweight combed over character. He was still a hit though.

  4. Christian Bale is the real deal, gives his all in every performance!
As far as promoting himself, he is very low key, humble and not a media hound- extremely private actor! I do not believe he does any movie for award collecting!! He does not do any late show interviews…
I will say he has deserved Oscars for many performances like American Psycho, The Machinist, Rescue Dawn, The Prestige, Empire of the Sun , to name a few!! Look forward to watching him on the big screen for every movie he is in!!! Brilliant actor.
