It’s been nine years since Clay Aiken appeared on American Idol and the boyish singer has matured considerably – in fact we didn’t recognize him in his suited office look. Since he placed second on Idol, Clay has released multiple albums and toured many times to the delight of his “Claymates” – middle aged female fans who threw their panties on the stage. The panty days appear to be over and Clay has come out as gay and now has a young son. His latest metamorphosis is as a businessman for Donald Trump’s Celebrity Apprentice.

Clay has been very busy besides touring and raising his son. Fortunately for him, he can now be himself and not some caricature that American Idol wanted. His fans are not really all Claymates but a diverse group of people who believe he is talented, intelligent, and funny.

Wow. Claymates out in force!! Good on ya, ladies 🙂

And the panty-throwing image? Can’t stop chortling over that one!

Whatever were they doing THAT for?? So that Clay could launder them and have them returned, neatly pressed and folded? LOL

I don’t all that much about Clay other than he has great singing voice. It is good to see him continuing to work and be in the public eye. He seems like a genuinely nice person. I saw his young son on another site awhile back and he was truly a cute little fellow.

And no doubt the odd skid-marked boxers were occasionally thrown in—just to liven up Claymation’s concerts a bit! 😉

Good to see Clay. Always thought he was a good guy. I think he might surprise some people. He is devoted to his charity and works hard to make sure it is successful.

Wow!Clay really has come a very long way. No longer the fresh-faced innocent boy from 8years ago. Watch out America, you don’t know it but you’re about to meet the REAL Clay Aiken…smart, articulate and handsome too. Get ready!!!

I can’t wait to see Clay on Celeb Apprentice. He’ll surprise a lot of people with his wit, charm and charisma. His new single, “Bring Back My Love” is his very best. I hope he gets to sing it on the show (yes, I’m a dreamer….)

And to think that on A.I., Clay was runner-up to Ruben Studdard, who continues to battle obesity and weak record sales. Clay has a fabulous voice; he just keeps getting better and better.

Gaunch is what boys call their underwear. I didn’t know it was exclusive to Canadian verbage.

I think one person is posting all this gush about him.

I recall reading accounts of his extremely gay antics, they were explicit and rough. And for a girl that likes it rough in the sack, it was too rough for me – gayness and fanta pants aside. Sounded like a narcissitic (sp) prick to me. Far from the image he portrays.

cal………bet you can’t back up what you just said. It’s OK to NOT like Clay. It is NOT Ok to make ups stuff about him. In 9 years, I have never heard anyone say this s**t about Clay. Wait… must be a member of the FS.

    Really, it is tiresome!!

  31. By Reta

I too have never heard this crap cal. Clay has one of the best singing voices ever and that he didn’t win is a farce because Ruben has some of the weakest sales of any of the Idols, including Fantasia. Ruben should really get his stomach stapled before he keels over on stage with a fatal heart attack. He sweats like a pig on stage which is very dangerous.
As For Clay, his voice is clean, pure, precise, and instantly recognisable, which is the true sign of a “star” singer who will endure. He’s a natural, and a good person as well. I’m so happy for him that he has a little boy and hope he has more children because he has the love to share. I believe he also teaches handicapped or mentally challenged children, or at least he did before he hit it big. But I think he still has some connection to it and didn’t just abandon his love of teaching because he made it singing.
I Can’t wait for the new show. The cast looks interesting. At least no Nene Leakes cow types this time!

I don’t know much about him… but he gives me the creeps. The hair that looks like a wig. The stuck on eyebrows. I can’t see how anybody would get down with him, gay or straight.

I know nothing about Clay Aiken. I don’t follow his career or know anything about his music. Based on all these postings, it will be interesting to get to know who he is on Celebrity Apprentice.

I remember a few months ago, Clay had a one-hour uninterrupted concert on PBS Station. He was absolutely great, his voice just keeps on improving. He got many standing ‘O’s.

No doubt all the other singers are jealous and screaming…Oh, my Akin-nuts.

I have just one thought to add here: a good number of the ladies tossing undies on the stages during the Idol tour in ’03 had attached a check to the Buble/Aiken Foundation which Clay had discussed during interviews during Idol. Many thousands of dollars was contributed during that few weeks, enough to start the actual Foundation, which today is nationally known as the National Inclusion Foundation. This is the charity that Clay is playing for on the Celebrity Apprentice show. For more info you can google the foundation.

That queen just had a facelift.

And Claymates? Give it a rest you are MUCH TOO OBVIOUS.

  44. By Carole H
    On January 5, 2012 at

Mel, you are much too obvious. You are either a homophobe or are jealous of the success Clay has had. Yes, I’m a Claymate if that’s what you choose to call it but from following this man’s career, I know the good work he has done for his foundation, UNICEF and other organizations.

Clay had a severe TMJ problem and when he was being operated for that, he had a bit of a double chin removed. I would hardly call that a facelift. Face it, he’s a good looking guy, with brains, compassion and integrity. Too bad there weren’t more like him around.

^^ Ah. So that explains the facial swelling.

Seems like just yesterday Clay was still a freckle-faced kid; he seems to have passed his 30-40s by completely and has landed in Barry Manilow territory—iffy cosmetic surgery, included.

@Carole- lady you’ve got to get up early in the morning to make those baseless accusations stick and furthermore you reek of old fangurl.

Fan-gurls- claymates – get this straight. We don’t have to agree about the object of your insane affection but when you attempt to control this thread with trite stereotypes and immature claptrap you will continue to get reality checked.

Your boy is just another faded gay celeb. Nothing homophobic with me telling the truth. Many celebs donate to charities including Unicef, big fucking deal. You’re dumb, lady.

After years of being sober, the less famous friend has fallen HARD off the wagon and our gal doesn’t know what to do. She’s hosted an intervention, hired an addiction specialist, and even threatened to end the friendship, but nothing seems to work. What’s a girl to do?
