“COMING OUT” REALITY SHOW CANCELED- STARS WOULDN’T COME OUT

Three years ago, celebrity publicist Howard Bragman announced that he was developing a reality show called “Coming Out” and he was looking for closeted celebrities to appear on the show and announce their sexual preference. We thought it was a fascinating but unrealistic idea. One of Howard’s specialties is helping famous people come out gracefully and he had worked with Lance Bass, Chaz Bono, and Dick Sargent. The reality show never came together because no stars wanted to come out! So in spite of the progress gays have achieved, “coming out” is still a courageous and difficult act.

  1. I think the correct reference is “sexual orientation,” not “sexual preference.”

  2. When Clooney, Cruise, and Travolta come out, then you will have a hit show.

  3. I’ll wait for Billy Graham, Charleton Heston and Rush Limbaugh, that i’d watch !

  4. When Bloomberg, NY Governor, Andrew Cuomo, and Obama comes out, then it will be all time ratings bonanza.

  5. Hey gays, a lot of you don’t need to come out; us straights can tell with a lot of you, ie; lance bass, Adam lambert, clai Aiken, etc…

We know you’re gay and could care less. We still love you or dislike you just like we do any straight.

  6. I was dying for this show to air! Damn it, now I’m forced to watch reruns of Welcome Back Kotter and look for signals from Travolta.

  7. “… in spite of the progress gays have achieved, “coming out” is still a courageous and difficult act.”

And the is a perfectly good reason for that…
