The mayor of New York defends his bike lanes and encourages bicycle riders like David Byrne of Talking Heads. Byrne has ridden since he was in high school and he’s even written a book about his bicycle tours in cities around the world called “Bicycle Diaries.” Above, the singer is running errands on his main source of pollution free transportation in New York.

I wouldn’t mind getting around on a bike as long as it had a little motor on it so I wouldn’t have to petal. lol

He wears earphones while cycling in NYC? Kids, don’t follow the poor habits of Byrne.

And he’s not wearing a helmet. His bleached blond hair won’t keep his brains inside his head should he fall and hit his head. It’s sad to idiot celebs/musicians etc pictured riding bikes without a helmet. Even Janet is too stupid to make this observation as she only cares about what people wear.
He should be wearing a helmet, I know, but this is why I come to this site. Where else would you see a photo of David Byrne on a bike? By the way, he looks terrific.
Calif has a law about this, you MUST wear a helmut on motorcycles AND bicycles. I heard the fine was pretty steep.
Byrne came into my antique store in Ventura years ago when he was doing a gig up the street. His hair was still black then and his band, Talking Heads was one of my faves! Great voices and fabulous lyrics!
I hope he takes the earphones off and gets himself a helmet. I’d hate to see that great talent destroyed.

Mel; just wondering, what exactly did or does Bryne do to qualify him in your mind as a “famewhore”? Have one of the most successful rock bands ever and write some of the coolest lyrics? Jealous much?
