DIANE VON FURSTENBERG DOESN'T CARE WHAT PETA THINKS

Designer Diane Von Furstenberg fearlessly runs around New York in her luscious mink coat and we love her for it. Anything to aggravate those PETA fanatics. Besides, if you’re married to Barry Diller, you can wear anything you want.

Someone has to wear fur. Imagine if all those poor little animals died in vain and nobody got to enjoy their beautiful fur. That would be sad.

If wearing fur is banned then so should a million other animal products. Leather, meat, poultry, the list could be endless.

I was expecting to read comments denouncing Diane’s choice of apparel. Sadly however not an animal lover amongst you all. What a callous lot including you Ms. Charlton. In this day and age no-one needs to eat animals nor wear their skins. Shame on you.

The real issue with fur is that the luxurious pelt ALWAYS looks better than the person wearing it, like a fire hydrant draped with diamonds.

  8. By Megan
    On December 21, 2007 at

I don’t care what PETA thinks either. I made my own ethical decision not to wear fur. And, I look a whole lot better than Diane von Furstenburg no matter what I wear. Comparing her to a fire hydrant is an insult to fire hydrants everywhere.

I have got a fake fur that cost $30. 7 people thought it was real. I would not wear fur regardless of anything..who needs the worry of storage, etc. Animals should not be tortured to clothe the uncaring rich and famous.

    OF COURSE she’s wearing fur.
Annything to take her mind off of the sex she’s not getting from her gay hobbit of a husband.
After YEARS (about 2+ decades!) of her begging and pleading, Barry Diller finally gave in and married this ridiculous hag

Fur is gross, people who were fur are gross. It’s the ultimate in cruelty and consumption.

  16. By Anonymous

There are alot more evil things in this world to worry about than people wearing fur coats. What about all the children in this country and others that are being sexually abused and exploited. What about abuse and fraud against the elderly. What about the war and all the soldiers and innocent civilians dying everyday. The list goes on and on. No I don’t think killing animals for their fur is the ultimate in cruelty and consumption.

It’s a biblical account that when Adam and Eve got thrown out of the garden of Eden they were given animal skins to clothe themselves. Fur has been worn by man ever since.

And the fur she’s wearing isn’t half bad, either.

    Regarding her “marriage:”
Not since Merv Griffin and Eva Gabor has a “romance” between a lifelong gay man and a sad, desperate woman seemed as laughable

She looks good – if it was 1980. No one wears fur anymore – TACKY. She has a gay husband, bad taste and a drug addicted child.

For those of you “youngsters”- This woman was THE SHIT in the day.
The wrap dress she invented/designed still looks great on alot of body types& is still very au courant .
Other than the gray roots ( which I can’t believe she’d be caught dead with, )
    she looks stunning ! Still.
Thanks Janet- MANY of us prefer NOT to read about the teenyboppers ALL THE TIME…We’d buy TeenBeat if we were interested…
Regarding the fur- SHE is wearing it at least; it’s not wearing her.
Hey, if I had her $$ I’d be happy enough…With some of Barry’s, life would be beyond happiness. Money vs. sex ????
    Show me the $$ ANYDAY!!!!!!

Her first husband, Prince Egon von Furstenberg, was also gay. I think with him she wanted the title and with Barry, she hopes he leaves his fortune to her and her children.

No way, Barry Diller is a cock sucker!! No wonder he’s successful.

  26. By Anonymous
    On December 21, 2007 at

^Possible. But she’ll have to stick around until Barry croaks before she sees any return on her “investment.” After all, how badly did this unfortunate creature want to marry Diller?
    REAL BAD.
She allowed him to compound his humiliation of her by demanding that she sign the “mother of all pre-nuptial agreements,” which, in legal circles, was said to make the one Barbra insisted Jim Brolin sign, look GENEROUS by comparison.
But it could have been even worse.
People who know Barry and who truly like Diane were genuinely surprised that Diller didn’t bring along one of his numerous boytoys for the honeymoon.
Yep. He’s THAT callous. And she, unfortunately, is that needy and desperate.
Since they have been married, she has probably regretted more than a few times, that she was so good in convincing Barry that she really doesn’t care about his raunchy and active sex life.

To each their own. Why so many haters?
You’d be surprised how many celebs have real furs. Who do you think keeps furriers in the biz?
People – get a life. Let’s protect children and abused women. I’m not one for skinning animals, but for crying out loud – PETA is lower than FEMA. Aaaaccck. [coughs]

She has the face of an old hag and a beer stomach. Her first husband was wealthy which gave her a leg up into the fashion industry, marrying Diller just tied it all up for her. Who cares if either husband was gay, it was the money she needed.

  30. By well pardon me
    On December 21, 2007 at

If she has a coat made out of 10,000 furry rats asses, there is basically nothing that can be done, no matter how much PETA screams.

    On December 21, 2007 at

The responses that some have expressed are distressing and sick. The animals used to supply coats for the likes of the Diane Von Furstenberg’s of this world are voiceless and often subjected to cruelty of every manner. At least in most instances we can defend ourselves, these poor creatures have no say. And swill like those of you that condone mistreatment and torture of animals deserve no place on this planet. The sooner you leave and in pain the better.

fur is worn by people with no souls, compassion or any sense of the thing God gave us called “kindness”….some of the human race chooses to delete this “kindness” and wear the pelts of poor,DEFENSELESS animals to scream to anyone who cares “I’m rich and all i care about is me,me,me…….i immediately lose respect for any actress or actor wearing fur and i will NEVER pay to see their work ….THEY SUCK…………………Janet, you suck and i won’t be reading your lame website anymore after your stupid ass comment about DIEana von assbite…..

Barry Diller. A rare Hollywood breed, almost in a class by himself

  37. By Anonymous
    On December 22, 2007 at

Barry Diller is the biggest queen in Hollywood. He hires young boys from Colorado. He’s a pervert with a teeny dick. Poor Diane, she has to smother her pain in fur to ease the fact that her husband has never so much as touched her or seen her nude. Fur is tacky but then again so is Diane. She is old and haggard, like a prune. You can tell her age by her hands, she is close to 70!

  41. By Fur wearers are either ignorant or very selfish, self-absorbed people.
    On December 22, 2007 at

Fur is shameful in this day and age. If you people only KNEW the vicious and torturous ways humans collect it – it would churn your stomach. It is primative. We no longer NEED fur for warmth with all the great synthetics out now. Get educated you oblivious people! Fur is wrong. Fur is EVIL.

Diane made her own money. She’s a great designer, her wrap around dress rocked in the 80′s and it rocks now. She would be just fine without Barry. Maybe they’re just great friends who loved each other and decided they would be there for each other without the sex. Who knows who cares. Good for them. The coat is beautiful by the way. She still looks damn good too.

I was in New York City about 18 months ago and my friends and I were walking in Soho. I was wearing a fake fur but it looked so real that unless you knew it could fool you. Anyway as we crossed the street this car careened from a side street and these young kids jumped out and this dumb girl poured some red paint on me. They jumped back in the car but by then a truck had pulled up and they were stuck. Well we were so mad my male friends pulled the 3 boys out of the car and gave them a beatdown. The girl who only minutes earlier was so brave was cowering in fright. I was so angry I poured the paint on her and the car and took money out of her purse to clean my coat. She kept screaming “I’m sorry please don’t hurt me. PETA said it was our duty to do this”
I swear the boys s**t in their pants. They all look so pathetic we let them go as the crowd cheered. In fact some in the crowd wanted to finish them off.
The moral of the story. It’s my coat and I will wear what I want when I want so PETA be damned. It felt so good when I got the bitch good
