DONALD’S A DUNCE: WHY HOLLY ROBINSON PEETE SHOULD HAVE WON CELEBRITY APPRENTICE

Donald Trump miserably failed to show his usual sense of logic when he anointed Bret Michaels as winner of Celebrity Apprentice. He flat out admitted that he chose Michaels not because he deserved the title, but because of the “pity factor.” When Bret started on the show he was best known for being an obnoxious rock star on “Rock of Love Bus,” so viewers were pleasantly surprised when he seemed likeable. However his incessant whining about having diabetes and fearing that his daughter did also (she doesn’t – but seeing his histrionics must have given her a good scare) started the “poor little me” ball rolling. Bret’s subsequent real life health problems were widely publicized and perhaps exaggerated, who knows? He “bravely” dragged himself to the finale, and already had a week of TV appearances booked. Everyone in that boardroom admitted he won because they felt SORRY for him, not because of his achievements. Holly raked in record breaking amounts of money for her charity, and showed clearheaded leadership throughout – SHE WAS ROBBED!

  1. Hey Janet, tell us how you really feel… 😉

  2. I disagree..Holly lost more challenges and didn’t have the creative side Brett did.
He won his project manager and most of the team always said he did the best..
If they voted for him because they felt sorry they were wrong but glad they did cause he deserved it.

However your comments on his “incessant whining about having diabetes” are true.
    That did get old..

  3. Holly “whined” just as incessantly about HER cause too. That’s what they were THERE for, remember? Bret DID win both his tasks he lead, and his ending commercial was much better than hers. I actually laughed out loud at his and wanted to see it again after the first time it played. Holly’s looked like a regular commercial, nothing special. Bret had much more creative imput on his commercial, sucha as all the stuff he went thru with the directing and the camera shots. Holly wasn’t seen doing ANYTHING like that. I also didn’t like AT ALL the way she treated Cyndi Lauper thru the whole show. She was mean to her and kept picking on her over & over and hurt her feelings on many different tasks. Holly acted like HER charity was the only one that had any “heart” which got really old. And it also bugged me that Holly’s charity was HER OWN, while Bret’s was not, it was a more general one for diabetes research. I think he won it fair and square, and that shouldn’t be taken away from him.

  4. Janet, as usual, takes the side of blacks who complain of being robbed. Usually they do the robbing!

  5. how much do you want to bet that strom and captain america are the same person. anyway, i agree with janet on this one, which i rarely do.

  6. Just a thought: What with all the TV Donald is in, and all the hours in his office doing multi-million dollar deals, owner of Miss USA, all his Atlantic City casinos, does he ever see Melania? She was a judge in the Miss USA, and she looked rather forlorn.

  7. I may be one of the few that never watched Celebrity Apprentice, but somehow, I don’t like Holly.

  8. L’il…I DID watch the whole show and believe me, if you would’ve watch, you probably wouldn’t have liked her any better. I watched the whole thing, all season, as I always do, and Holly was one of the most unpleasant participants ever (notwithstanding the completely evil Omarosa). As I said Holly was mean without reason over and over to Cyndi Lauper, and hurt her feelings repeatedly. She KNEW she was hurting her and then went ahead and did it again the next time. I thought her “warmth” came off fakely and she really seemed cold and self-centered thru the whole thing. I would not watch anything with her in it. Her personality leaves waaay too much to be desired.

  9. Disagree. Bret did a better job in the final task. He also won both tasks where he was project manager. So he won all of the tasks where he was project manager. Holly did not. Holly raised more money. Period. But that is what she does – raise money for her charity. Bret treated everyone with respect and won without throwing anyone under the bus. Something that could never be said for Holly. She didn’t take the blame for anything even as project manager.

  10. Hey, I’ve said it before, I too, believe Strom and Captain America are one and the same.

Holly and Bret both got an equal amount of big bucks at the end. That said, most of the companies the teams did work for were really chintzy with the prize money. All that publicity for what, $20,000 for a show’s task? Cheap, cheap, cheap.

They were both whiners. But, Bret really pulled it together for being a rocker who never went to bed before 4 a.m. before he was on the show. Really cute and likeable, but not boyfriend material. Holly was really likeable, and beautiful also.

  11. Bettye Bluejay: Did you think Holly was “likable” when she was throwing Cyndi Lauper under the bus, or mocking her, or making her feel bad for just being herself and being a creative artist type person?
I didn’t think she was likeable OR “cute” when she treated Cyndi like that, thru the whole show. It was mean and uncalled for and really made me sad to watch.

  12. I have no idea who Captain America is, but it isn’t me!

The point was Janet always takes up for the black, no matter how whacky the comment. Neither of these deserved the crown!

  13. I don’t believe any of those fights, throwing someone under the bus, catty remarks. It’s all to generate viewer interest.

  14. this entire hospital story of him was a SET UP, folks!!
    ……bet?

  15. is it me or does donald trump always have that constipated look on his face? i’m not trying to be rude but like his hair, his expression is always the same, stone cold.

  16. Never watched the show, but have always liked Holly Peete and Brett Michaels. It’s Donald Trump I’ve never cared for.

  17. Bret won fair and square! Holly stepped on a lot of people to get to the finals, and left a lot of hurt feelings. I also have a problem with money going to her own charity…which leads me to wonder…do either her or her hubby receive a salary? I just didn’t like her…I understood her, but didn’t like her. I ended up really liking Bret, but thought the daughters were a bit ‘coached’ in for the show appearances, and his girlfriend needs to ease up on the cheek implants…but then doesn’t all of Hollywood!

  18. What’s the big deal? Bret and Holly both got $250,000 for their charities and the title “Celebrity Apprentice” means nothing. As far as Bret faking such an awful illness, I’d rather take the high side and not accuse him of faking it.

  19. Holly didn’t deserve to win at all.
Bret was the best player of everyone.

  20. The only issue I have is that he fired Kardashian for her DUI and yet praised Bret when his obvious lush-ness has had a grave impact on his health. This is the embarrassment for his organization.

  21. i love holly robinson peete. she was in it to win it!

…and people comparing her to omarosa is insane.

  22. reta,

get over yourself. you love to streamline others for their opinions. so fucking self-righteous. it’s a fucking tv show.

  23. Wow Janet, you’re something else. I’m deleting you from my favorites.

  24. All the reality shows suck. So much so that reality and real life are starting to fade into one another. That’s why I don’t watch any of them, except the insipid DWTS which is also phony, not to mention full of sluts and whore-mongers who are probably hooking up off-screen. (Maksim and Erin Andrews…….and Chad Ocochino and Cheryl Burke).

  25. Seriously? He exaggerated almost dying? Are you high, Janet? Did you see him? Did you even know who he was? Anyway, Holly seemed very plastic and insincere. Yes, Holly, you are raising a son with autism. But, Bret himself is actually living with the disease he is fighting for. Plus, I think the person above who asked about whether Holly and/or her husband draw a salary from their charity has a good point–what do either of them do for a living? At least Bret has a job–he is back on tour this week. So, Janet, go screw yourself.

  26. Agreed Janet. Donald is so into money and he goes Back on his ideals. Brett should have lost points for being stupid enough to be making appearances when he is not even close to being recovered… And all this boo hooing over how sad he is that Rain may get diabetes… Well DUH – hello childhood diabtetes is often a result of heredity. People who choose to birth kids when they KNOW they are passing on bad genetics are selfish. Adopt and quit being irresponsible by passing on bad genes. If she gets it he has no one to blame but himself.

  27. Holly Robinson Peete is the reason I stopped watching the show.

She is (or played well the part of) a manipulative, nasty, sploogy-faced (no expression, botox maybe? despite appearance of age) person who gives the female half of the species a bad name and who would sell anyone out to get somewhere.

She clearly should have been out on the first episode; and I couldn’t bear to see her get passed by for that honor time after time. I was pleasantly surprised by Brett’s knowledge, ability to work with people and trust in their abilities and areas of expertise, and dedication. I am very glad he won, but I am equally glad I stopped watching. I couldn’t stand thinking Peete was the fix to win every week, as would have happened.

  28. Haha, I didn’t even mean to say “time after time,” but I find it funny that I inadvertently did, since that is a song Cyndi Lauper is famous for, and Holly began her appearance on Apprentice by attacking Lauper at every turn.

  29. Last year Annie Duke was robbed when Trump made Joan Rivers the Celebrity Apprentice winner. Trump picks who he likes. Period.

  30. It is really only the morons who watch these shows!
