Here are Dustin Hoffman and his wife Lisa walking out of a Beverly Hills office building last week. They’re carrying the ever present LA fashion accessory – the water bottle. It started us wondering – do people in other places – like the midwest – also walk around carrying water bottles?

We still use wine skins up here Janet! You have to thaw the snow at Whistler before you can drink it anyway. One day Canada will have water in bottles too…i hope.

Carry a water bottle around is an affectation. It’s so “look at me.” Unless you’re headed for Death Valley, lose the water bottle! It’s silly and pretentious.

In a place with a desert climate where, if you manage to find a drinking fountain, you don’t want to get your mouth near it, plenty of people carry around water bottles.

Must be a slow day on reporting on celebrities, big deal water bottles are a smart idea. I recall when I use to live in AZ how we use to put water bottles in the back seat just incase we had car problems out in the middle of no where. Have you got a few liters in your back seats?
Also, the next time you drive thru your fast food joint, just order the burger and skip the fries and soda pop…. And drink your water instead.
Course, I would have thought Dustin could have afforded a larger bottle or atleast one of those Camel Bak’s… But what looks more dorkier, carrying around a simple bottle or wearing one of those things around your waists’.

I’m in Atlanta and have been carrying a water bottle with me for years. Everyone does. It’s healthy- good for your skin and staves off hunger!
Hey I’m in Canada and I carry that same brand of Fiji water everywhere I go. Water is your friend.
