Elizabeth Taylor did not forget her longtime friends when she passed away in March at the age of 79. Her close friend and hairdresser Jose Eber was in the process of trying to move his Beverly Hills salon to a better location in the year before she died. Jose desperately wanted the space that Christie’s auction house was vacating on Camden Drive in Beverly Hills. It was a choice piece of real estate with many parties interested, but because Liz had arranged for Christie’s to auction off her estate, she made sure that Jose got the desirable space. He decorated the posh new salon in her favorite colors of lavender and purple in a final tribute to Elizabeth. PLUS, we hear Elizabeth left Jose her Maybach automobile, worth over half a million dollars!

Wow, I do remember Jose Eber. He was in the press all the time and never changed his look. He is his own Icon, of sorts. I’m glad ET took good care of her true friends.

I believe she was more known for her marriages and scandals than her acting talent.
I’ve read over the years what a kind and loyal friend Liz was, and this proves it. What a wonderful last thing for her to do for her old friend. Makes me like her even more than I already did.
Although this is a very nice gesture and I’m sure Mr. Eber is a very nice man, I personally feel their are more deserving people. As I am in the process of dropping off Christmas boxes for The Samaritans Purse, I am thinking that some of the more unfortunate children in the world could have been gifted by Ms Taylor. Just sayin’

elizabeth taylor was more than an icon. she was clever and talented and had a sense of decency and courage–she is sorely missed but her spirit and her legacy will always go on.
