Eva Mendes just gets better all the time. We love that she’s such a down to earth girl, but she’s also capable of being a drop dead glamorous screen goddess like Rita Hayworth. Above she’s partying in New York, where she’s currently filming The Women. (As we told you, she’s playing the coveted role Joan Crawford originated.)

  1. No disrespect to Eva, but Joan was the only one who could do “Crystal Allen” justice. “L’amour, L’amour! Where does it get you? On the train to Reno.”

  2. Oh please don’t compare her to Rita Hayworth, she doesn’t even come close.

  3. I agree with Nelson above, she’s nothing like Rita Hayworth not in a million years, so don’t compare her please. Even after seeing Eva Mendes in We Own The Night, I still don’t think she’s that much of an actress…

  4. She looks like a cheap version of Jennifer Lopez – so that’s pretty cheap. This remake sounds straight to video.

  5. Thanks to all the commenters above — you saved me the trouble of expressing my contempt for the comparison and the casting.

  6. yeah, this girl isnt much, my friends sister used to work with her at hot dogg on a stick and gave her the acting bug, my friends sister ended up having kids and eva ended up having the career, too bad she isnt much on the big screen. all the highland park, silver lake, echo park, atwater village people are rooting for her, but she doesnt translate good on screen. sorry just the truth, she needs to stick to playing in maid roles, lol she seems lke a latin version of jessica simpson in certain photos.

  7. She’s definitely JLo-light………hell, even JLo isn’t JLo anymore. She’s Skeletor’s hand puppet.

  8. First of all, Nelson Aspen, I love you for referencing L’amour! You made my day.
I think these ‘yatches will R*U*I*N this movie.
L’amour… thats french for love, sweetie.

  9. Ok, not talented, and only marginally pretty. What is the big deal with her?

  10. Methinks she got where she is (which really ain’t very far) by indulging in the old casting couch method. She is not that pretty or great and will never be a big star.
