Frances Bean Cobain is looking slimmer and prettier and appears to be doing quite well without guidance from her mother Courtney Love. She’s pictured here arriving at LAX – apparently she has put her plans to attend Bard College in New York on hold. We hear she’s spending the next year in Paris working on her art. (She had a very successful show at La Luz de Jesus gallery in LA) Frances, 18, will be staying in Marianne Faithfull’s Paris apartment while Marianne is on tour and recording elsewhere. Note: Frances is reading The Sane Society by Erich Fromm.

Another child of the famous who really lost out on the decent parent thing, sad

Skinny isn’t doing her any favors. It’s making her nose look a lot bigger than it is. I liked her better when she had some meat on her bones.

I give her credit for not famewhoring and for finding her passion in something that doesn’t include the paps. She’s a hell of a lot normal than she has any right to be considering her sanity-challenged mom.

And really, who gives a shit what the kid is reading? Does it matter to ANYONE? Why would it? She’s getting to do things the average girl of her age can’t because of the money her rock parents live’s provided her. Let’s hope she puts it to good use, her art (so far) seems to have talent, however dark (understandably). She even LOOKS glum faced here as well so I hope she has not also inherited her parents penchant for drama and wallowing in downward spirals. You don’t always have to exist in a blender to create worthy art. Happiness, even blitheringly joyous expression can be excellent art. Don’t swallow the red pills Frances.

I have to disagree with you this time Reta, having a father commit sucide and a mother from hell on drugs and just plain crazy. Money can’t solve every problem and her head has got to be messed up. I pray for this young lady and hope she finds her own way.

Janet has left out what is probably the most interesting detail.

What is the connection to Marianne Faithfull?

That doesn’t look like her at all.

Reta, I see you still spreading the nonsense and venom on Janet’s forum. Yes, we do give a shit what the kid reads. It’s called education, building a person, intellectual influences etc. But I’m sure you can’t understand half of what I’m saying so I’ll finish here…

As far as the pic, is that a cig behind her ear? LOL!

Staying at Maryanne Faithful’s house? Doesn’t sound like she’d be a good role model for Frances!

Ha Jeanified, that was ONE of my thoughts also.

REALLY Meg? You CARE what the kid reads? How is it that you keep track of her freashest reading material? Do you follow her down the halls of the college? You sure must have an overabundance of spare time!

By the way, the only “person” I have ever had any trouble “understanding” on Janet’s post is that baby raping jackoff Gerard Vandenberg/Captain America. His drivel is just so illiterate, nothing makes sense.

I’m impressed that she’s reading something besides the dreaded Twilight series. Shows she’s got depth and is not another vapid celebrity kid. Hell, I’m impressed she’s reading at all considering the practice is so archaic and foreign to some of these kids.

Good for her. Am I the only person on here who finds irony in her reading “The Sane Society” considering her mom is crazy’s best friend?

“Reading” a book and “carrying” a book in such a way as to make its title visible to inevitable paps are not quite the same thing.

“The Sane Society” is not an easy-to-find book and not the kind of book someone would just “carry”. If that were the case she’d go for Proust or Hesse to “carry” not a cerebral philosophy/sociology book.

Amazon shows an abundant supply of both new and used copies of “The Sane Society” with one day shipping.

Teenagers and young people who fancy themselves artists or intellectuals tend to “sport” esotheric reading material. Pretensiousness is one of the key characteristics of youth. (Not to say that Frances is not sincere. As much as I disliked both her parents, I would not dare argue their intelligence.)

    Scooby LOL!!!!!!

You looked on Amazon?? That’s too funny. Well, I guess whether she’s “pretend” reading, she certainly inspired most to hunt for the book.

Her dad wrote some good songs but Nirvana sucked live and he was a mess. Courtney has no musical talent, can’t sing, can’t play in tune, can’t write a decent song. And this ugly, pretentious nothing, they should’ve just flushed her!

She is a woman and has control over her life and it is up to her what direction she is going to go and it is nice seeing her around and it makes me feel better seeing that she is okay and she is making plans that are fantastic and wonderful for her… Good and Good Luck.

Love him or hate him, this guy is a loudmouth who doesn’t hesitate to tell it like he sees it- but there’s one thing he NEVER talks about: his prostate problem. Long story short: he LEAKS! He likes to project an image of macho virility, but under his custom made suits are custom made “diapers.” He’s VERY self-conscious and has absorbent but undetectable “panty liners” sewn into all his underwear, to avoid wet spots. Thanks to his arrogant behavior, he has more than a few enemies and he’s terrified his secret will be exposed and he’ll be forever ridiculed!
