38 years after they debuted, The Go-Go’s (Belinda Carlyle, Jane Wiedlin, Charlotte Caffey, and Gina Schock) are on their farewell tour and first stop was at the Jimmy Kimmel show. Don’t underestimate this pop group – they are the MOST successful female rock band OF ALL TIME and they were the FIRST to write their own songs and play their own instruments! Jane Wiedlin recently lamented that it’s a shame that no current girl bands have taken their crown – female bands are hard to find these days. Jane also thinks female singers are “hypersexualized” and rarely write their own music or play instruments.

Still a cool band. Carlyle is still a beauty. I know for a fact she’s nice !

What about Heart? They were better and more famous than the Go-go’s. They were on the scene lots longer and wrote most of their own stuff.
Oh yes, Ann Wilson (of Heart) sure can tear up a stadium hitting those notes. What a glorious voice she has and amazing song writing skills.
