Prince loves to organize talented girls into musical groups - especially beautiful ones. He has a new project he's involved in called "Honey Collective" and it's a bunch of music oriented women - DJ's, musicians, dancers, etc and they all have something in common - they love HIS music. He's made up some awfully strict RULES for these adoring HC girls. They are supposedly required to take a lie detector test and promise that:
1, they have been celibate for three years (?)
2, they are free of all contracts
3, they truly LOVE funk music
Rumor is that Prince is more than friends with HC founder DJ Rashida. You can catch Prince and any number of these performing femmes at Goa on Tuesday nights. Prince will be wearing yellow and black because he calls himself the HC "mascot."

Prince debuted some new footwear during his performance at Coachella. Usually he wears pointy high heel boots that he has custom made in a color to match every outfit. His new look is a more comfortable round toe platform boot with what appears to be a high lucite wedge. It still gives him that much needed extra four or five inches of height.

Melanie Griffith turned up at Green Door for Prince's private performance with two of her kids- Dakota Johnson, 18, and Alexander Bauer, 23, pictured here. Alexander's father is Steven Bauer ("Scarface") but we think he looks a lot more like Dakota's dad Don Johnson. Hmmmm...

If you're wondering where Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie will be partying tonight after the Oscars- we've got the scoop. Angelina is a HUGE fan of Prince and the royal couple has RSVP'd the party he's having tonight at his home. Angie is just dying to see Prince perform and she's not going to let a baby bump get in her way. If they party at all, it will be with Prince.
Yes, it has to be Prince under that face coverup - he's dashing off to a party in London where he seems to be the toast of the town. We're always fascinated by his look - this photo looks like it's right out of the 1980's style-wise.
Don't hate us for getting a kick out of photos of Prince - there's always so much to look at. Here he's arriving at the London premier of The Bourne Ultimatum with two exotic dancers from his act. He's currently performing in the UK. Prince simply calls the identical sisters "Twinz." The dandified singer, who's twice divorced, enjoys being seen in the company of unusual woman- as long as they don't talk too much - or upstage HIM.
Strictly professional? Or a pack of lies? We're hearing that Beyonce's boyfriend Jay-Z actually IS having a romance with his pride and joy Rihanna. Their collaboration on Umbrella resulted in a gigantic hit and fueled dormant romance rumors. Jay started off as Rhianna's mentor and he even picked out which guys she was allowed to go out with. But nowadays he's spending more time with his young discovery and less time with Beyonce. (Keep in mind he and beyonce never admitted they were an item.) And here's a real twist: We've been told that Beyonce isn't terribly upset about it because SHE has a massive crush on Prince and they are secretly seeing each other. This whole group is so secretive we may never learn the truth!
We've always been fascinated by Prince's fashion idiosyncrasies. Here he is, dressed to the nines at an airport in Europe. What's wrong with this picture? He's outfitted all in black, but happens to be wearing white athletic socks and platform flip flops! We calculate those high heel pointy toe boots he favors are starting to rub him the wrong way. Wearing those tight boots on a long overseas flight could be a nightmare. Since Prince's bedroom slippers even have high heels we are surprised to see him give up those extra inches for comfort. Especially for rubber thongs!
It looks like a feud actually IS starting to bubble between Justin Timberlake and Prince. Our clever colleague, CJ, who writes for the Star Tribune in Minneapolis, says SOME people think Justin's new CD apes Prince's style. At an Emmys party Prince announced "For whoever is claiming that they are bringing sexy back, sexy never left!" And who can forget Justin at the Golden Globes, squatting in front of the microphone to imitate his tiny rival. Looks like Justin really RESENTS those comparisons between his CD and Prince's music. He and Nelly Furtado came out with the diss song "Give it to Me" in which he mocks Prince's mumbling, and jokes "We missed you on the charts last week." (Justin's CD is outselling Prince's 3121 by a MILE. ) The ball is in Prince's court.
A friend of ours who used to write for Rolling Stone told us an amusing story about the recently departed James Brown. It was back in the early 80's and this reporter called James to ask his opinion of the new sensation Prince, who was being compared to him. Prince's shiny suits, pompadour hair, and melodramatic songs were reminiscent of early James Brown. When our reporter got James on the phone and brought up Prince, Brown didn't hold back. "He's a skinny imitation of me!" growled the Godfather of Soul. "HE RIPPED ME OFF!" The moves, the style, the hair - I did it all first!" We don't know if James became more politically correct later on, but he had no love for Prince back then.
Prince was seized with a religious fervor recently at the after hours club Xenii. It's already been established that Prince doesn't want the DJ to play hip hop songs with obscene lyrics and the club indulges him. On this night he started lecturing the girls doing go-go dancing in scanty outfits. The half dozen pretty girls gyrate sexily on pedestals throughout the club. He told them "It's WRONG to dance like that. You're too good for this!" What would your parents think? You shouldn't be selling yourself so cheap."
The girls protested "We need the money we earn here!" Prince asked them how much they were paid per night and offered to give them TWICE as much to STOP dancing and go home! The dancers were surprised but realistic - "And what would we do next week? We LIKE working here and we LOVE to dance! We're happy!" Finally Prince gave up and went back to his table for another drink of water. No conversions that night.
