We’re not surprised that ABC is crazy about Grey’s Anatomy creator and head writer Shonda Rhimes (pictured here with Ellen Pompeo) – her hit show has salvaged the network. We just didn’t realize how far they would go to make her happy. Studio people have been looking for a medium sized house in Hollywood not too far from where the show is filmed. The house is for Shonda – not to live in, but to write in. it seems she loves to SMOKE and it’s against the law for her to smoke at the studio around other writers. So they’re getting her a private house where she can write those brilliant scripts and smoke all she wants.

Most studios (Disney, Universal) in LA have purchased homes in and around their studio lots so the noise compliants are limited if they film explosions or late at night.
They’ll probably “give” her one of those homes so she can smoke away.
i think that she is a brilliant writer. like her, like her show. if she wants to smoke in her private bungalo, thats the least abc could do for her, as her successful show has breathed life and a bijillion dollars into an otherwise dead network. (i think she would probably feel better without the smokes, but that nicotine habit is as hard to break as heroin.)
lots of actors &celebs smoke…brad pitt, jennifer aniston, keanu, charlie sheen, ellen, demi moore, ashton kutcher, lindsay lohan, and the list goes on…
