HERO? WE THINK NOT

An open message to Tom Cruise’s publicist: Enough with the trumped up hero stories! Since when did it become an act of heroism to stop and check on people who’ve just had an auto accident? It’s common, decent behavior and other people do it every day without seeking praise. It seems like every time Tom turns around he’s “rescuing” someone when it’s simply an act of good manners. And SOMEONE close to him always trumpets it to the press. Hero, schmero. Remember, this is the same guy who wouldn’t allow construction workers at his own house to look him in the eye.

  1. It’s a PR stunt. Who the hell stops to do what they did with a new born? Or was Suri not there and was holed up in the secret Scientology dungeon being nursed by aliens?
Tom Cruise is in trouble. People have a negative view of him due to his crazy anti psychotic drug rants and his scientology. His studio won’t resign him until he takes a pay cut. Everyone know Katie Holmes is a paid beard. Tom is TOAST!

  2. Years ago Tom was in the news for helping ppl so it is either what he has always done or a fake story that has been going on for years. To me, he seems like he would sincerely help ppl. Everyone does things that make them look foolish. To pick on ppl in public seems to be some kind of game today. Re Suri, he is just deciding what time to show his baby to the public via magazines, that’s not our call. His romance with Katy happened so fast ppl think it is fake. I think we should give it a rest.

  3. Wow – Supercruise to the rescue yet again. How convenient that he seems to show up in emergency situations. I agree with Janet – enough already.

  4. Tom is over. Only a complete moron would believe this story.

  5. You said EXACTLY what I thought when I read the story. Why can’t he help someone without his PR people putting it in the news. He’s so insecure!

  6. Give the guy a break — he’s a nice guy with a big heart……and not everyone stops to help in bad situations, which we read in the paper every day.

  7. Love Cruise!
Met him at an airport years ago and he was so nice to me and all the rest of the people there.
I have high respect for him.

  8. This story is BS. Why does he have to release a press release everytime he speaks to a normal/everyday person? All he did was stop and see if they were OK. IS THIS A HEROIC ACTION?? The “accident victims” were probably $cientologists looking for some free auditing.

  9. My cousin works in transportation in the movie industry. He was working on a film years ago with Nicole Kidman. He talked about how nice and down-to-earth Tom is. I think Tom genuinely cares about people.
Also I read that when he and Nicole adopted their two kids, there wasn’t a lot of publicity or photos of those children either.
    P.S.
    I am not a Scientologist!

  10. This little girl is so in trouble. Watched all the time by others. Tom a control freek. I hope that she never gets married to him and saves herself at least that one step in the whole mess. It is Tom that makes all these crzy moves. Such as not showing the baby. Right – it is none of our business, but just give out the damn photo months ago and go about living life. The man is not right!

  11. Finally, someone is willing to dump on a celeb for their phony “heroism”!
    Thank you.

  12. Obviously his PR flacks are working to keep his image positive in light of his kooky comments and antics. Poor Katie is nothing more than his robotic puppet. Too bad, she had a pretty promising career. I used to love him, but in the last couple of years, I’ve lost any respect I’ve had for him and his high-handed ways. Pity Katie and Suri, and his other two children. The Puppetmaster has them on Cruise-control!

  13. Tom is so over. It’s a total PR stunt to try and respond to all the negative publicity he’s been getting. What’s up with Katie’s parent’s? If that was my daughter, I would’ve rescued her by know-with or without the grandkid. She’s gonna need some serious deprogramming when she finally gets away from him.

  14. Bizarre thing is, how does this guy come across so many accidents? Does everyone else? Is everyone coming across one crisis after another and walking away? All tragedies tend to collect around Tom and he is the only one willing to act? It feels a little made up. I don’t seem to see all the situations that cross Tom’s path on a daily basis. Maybe they’re real, just seems odd. Like everything else. Odd.

  15. Toms PR machine always plays it up when he does things like this. Im sure he did stop only with the thought in mind of the good publicity !! He’s had so much bad stuff going on that he probaly thinks he needs to get some good stuff about him out there !! As for Katie…I don’t feel bad for her, she’s an adult Im sure she knew what she was getting paid for when she hooked up with him !! She’s as crazy as he is to go along with the charade. Good riddenance to both of them !!!!

  16. I am so sick of hearing about Tom Cruise and his current significant other. I mean, personally, he seems to be a jealous psycho that controls every move Katie Holmes makes. Aren’t there a Lifetime movies about guys like Tom??

  17. Tom Cruise a hero after what he said about post-partum depression? That’s like a bad car wreck in itself. He is so full of sh*t. I hope it comes back to bite him in his righteous ass. Wake up already Katie!!

  18. RE:”Love Cruise!
Met him at an airport years ago and he was so nice to me and all the rest of the people there.
I have high respect for him.”
Remember, those who had brief contact with Ted Bundy and John Wayne Gacy also liked them.(NOT implying that Cruise is a serial killer – just saying that you can’t really know someone from a brief, chance encounter.)

  19. I wish he would just go away. He has zero talent and he’s a whack job. I mean he’s really screwed up.

  20. Well, Janet, you earned some major points with me on this one. I am so happy to see someone call a spade a spade on the Tom Cruise deal. I loathe him and his PR stunts are INSULITINGLY transparent and juvenile. He makes my skin crawl and I resent him more every time he tries to spin himself into a positive light. The man is certifiably insane and he’s too uneducated and emotionally immature to realize that he’s paying through his fudgepacking butt for PR that is revealing far more than it is hiding.
And that reminds me…..Why won’t any reporter hand him a college-level textbook and ask him to read it and then prove comprehension? Shutting him up is pretty much that simple. As long as the scientologists don’t have a chance to “tutor” him beforehand, I assure you he will fall flat on his face. There is no “cure” for dyslexia and Tom Cruise still has the learning disability. The man couldn’t score highly enough on the ACT to get into a junior college and that’s a fact. (An ACT test that the scientologists don’t rig, that is)

  21. Funny thing about all of this is you left out the biggest part. He paid the hospital bills of the motorists.. Heroism?? To those people he helped he’s a hero.. Sure people stop and help everyday but Tom isn’t just a regular person, he’s a celebrity and it’s seems that it is less common for someone like him to help. That’s why he’s a hero… He’s a hero in his selfish species, celebrity.
