The more you look at the 1977 Brad Elterman photo of Joan Jett, the easier it is to see why she cast Kristen Stewart to play herself in “The Runaways.” When the old photo was taken, Joan probably WAS a teenage runaway. She’s pictured on the corner of Hollywood and Highland, which has actually changed a lot more than SHE has. And those are some shoes she’s rockin.’

Joan Jett has no talent? Wow, where have YOU been? I remember a time when women were not taken seriously as rockers. Joan Jett has been a beacon, an inspiration for rockers for years. FYI: I am as straight as they come, but I do know and appreciate talent. Slagging her for her sexuality is one way to compensate for the fact you don’t possess one iota of her talent, stamina, and legacy. I photographed her from 1977-1980. She was always fun. Joan Jett rocks, and if you don’t get that, pity on you.

Joan Jett can’t hit a note. At least Lita Ford is a helluva guitarist (also can’t hit a note), if a bitch. If you want someone who can actually yell on-key, try Trent Reznor. I am sure there are more, but not anyone in the Runaways.
I know that I’m rather late to respond…but I am just now reading some of the ignorant comments posted here. Now, please understand, ignorant is not the same as stupid. So it is not a put down. Ignorant means that you are uninformed and simply do not know any better. In this case I am referring to your inability to make a credible and intelligent statement. (referring to the statements of Bosco, Strom, E, and captain america). If you do not like someone’s music…fine. But must you be so offensive and derogatory? There really is no need to be disrespectful. Joan Jett has a proven success record and a strong and loyal fan base. As for her sexuality…it’s none of our business and she has never made any statements regarding it except that essentially. As for what these comments were intended for….yes, I like the picture. And thank you Jenny Lens for trying to maintain some civility in the comments.
