HUELL HOWSER IS GONE, BUT NOT FORGOTTEN
We miss him already. It’s hard to imagine California without Huell Howser. The host of PBS’s California’s Gold died this week and we will miss him. He delighted in investigating California landmarks, small towns, and odd places of interest. We discovered many local idiosyncrasies thanks to Huell. Once we even had dinner at his apartment in the swanky El Royale in Hollywood. He was always a Southern gentleman. (Above, Huell at The Bunny Museum)

We were shocked to hear of Huell’s death. It is amazing what he meant to people. His “aw shucks” manner will be missed. I hope there will be a public memorial service for him.

A gentleman and a sweetheart of a guy. His enthusiasm never failed to impress me & it was always fun to run into him at El Coyote! RIP, HH!

Since I live in the deep south, I don’t know him, but he has a sweet kind face and there are many in deep sorrow now. He looks like really likable.
