IDENTITY THEFT: JAMES WOODS PROVES CRIME DOES NOT PAY

James Woods, who played an LA prosecutor on Shark, has set a great example for dealing with identity theft. Woods told Michael Glynn at The Enquirer that he was horrified to learn that someone had charged thousands of dollars on his credit card. The crook had bought a computer and purchased two VIP tickets to the recent Dave Matthews concert at the Staples Center in LA for $3,700. The fraudulent charges were deducted from his bill, but James was determined to find the guilty party. He called the Staples center and cleverly told them he hadn’t received his tickets yet – that he wanted to verify the correct name and address. Incredibly, the crook had used his own real name and address. James realized he’d eaten at a restaurant just blocks from where the crook lived. He then called the restaurant and tracked down a guilty waiter. Woods handed the info to the Beverly Hills police and they arrested the guy.

  1. They couldn’t pay me to take his identity. He’s ugly and has an even uglier girlfriend.

  2. Good for him! As someone who was the victim of identity theft myself, and was told the banks wouldn’t push to prosecute because the $5,000 taken (from two banks) was too petty, I applaud Mr. Woods for taking a stand.
Or did he have a lackey do it?
    ^..^

  3. Good for him (Woods) EXCEPT some dope Judge will give him a slap on the wrist and free him to do it again.

  4. Good for James Woods. Nothing is worse than having your credit cards used fraudulently. Totally understand Woods’ desire to know how it happened and to hunt down the perp. Happened to us last summer but we weren’t as good detectives as Woods, never found out who perp was.

  5. What in the world does Woods appearance have to do with this story? I would signed anonymous too, if that was all I had to contribute.

  6. I hope the story is true because good for him! I admire him for pursuing the criminal.

YOU WORK HARD FOR YOUR MONEY AND HAVE TO PAY TAXES UP THE ASS AND FOR THIS MAN TO TRY TO WALK AWAY WITH YOUR CREDIT IS GOING TO GET HIM SOME TIME IN JAIL AND IN THE FUTURE ARE YOU JUST GOING TO PAY WITH CASH INSTEAD OF A CREDIT CARD IN THE FUTURE.
