We had no expectations when we walked into a screening of “Lucy” starring Scarlett Johansson, and it turned out to be an amazing movie. If you loved Luc Besson’s The Fifth Element, The Professional, or La Femme Nikita, you will be hooked on Lucy! It has all the futuristic elements and surprises that Besson is noted for. He loves strong female characters like Milla Jovovich, and Scarlett fills the bill here. Scarlett’s party girl character Lucy is exposed to a new drug that accelerates her mental powers and a group of terrifying Chinese gangsters are determined to get the drugs back. Great story – great visuals – don’t miss it.

  1. First the Russians were evil (White Knights), then the Japanese (some movie with Sean Connery), now it’s the Chinese (with the exception of the Richard Gere movie which came first.) I like movie featuring a woman with all kinds of super powers.

  2. Luc besson is a hack, I hate all his movies.
i went to see big blue back in the day because I was crushing hard on the male lead.
the movie is a typical bad 1980’s film= a guilty pleasure.
the fifth element, to me is unwatchable.
le femme nikita was ONLY watchable for it’s first rate cast, anne pariilaud, jean hugh anglade, the cast is excellent but the film overrated!
I intend to see LUCY but I have zero expectations that this film will be worthwhile.

ps. i ran to see the island with scarjo in 05, that was also a let down. the audience i saw the film with scoffed at its ending.

  3. I dont watch anything with this talentless pig faced Jewess in it, thanks
