IT'S TRUE: PATRICK SWAYZE HAS PANCREATIC CANCER AND WEEKS TO LIVE

We can just imagine the hearts breaking everywhere since the news about Patrick Swayze’s pancreatic cancer leaked out. It’s terribly sad. This actor starred in two of the most romantic movies in Hollywood history- Dirty Dancing and Ghost. According the Enquirer, Patrick, 55, was diagnosed in January and has been treated at the Stanford Cancer Center, but the cancer has spread and they gave him only six weeks to live. Sadly, he had just filmed a pilot for A&E that might have turned into a series for him. Don’t doubt this tragic story because the Enquirer had the scoop- they are simply never wrong about medical stories. This is a real tragedy.

  1. Patrick Swayze is remaining optimistic, despite his recent diagnosis with pancreatic cancer.
The actor’s publicist released this statement Wednesday afternoon:
“Actor Patrick Swayze has been diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer and is currently undergoing treatment. Patrick’s physician Dr. George Fisher states, ‘Patrick has a very limited amount of disease and he appears to be responding well to treatment thus far. All of the reports stating the timeframe of his prognosis and his physical side effects are absolutely untrue. We are considerably more optimistic.’ Patrick is continuing his normal schedule during this time, which includes working on upcoming projects. The outpouring of support and concern he has already received from the public is deeply appreciated by Patrick and his family.”

  2. Hope you beat this disease Patrick. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

  3. Janet,
Sorry dear but the Enquirer is always wrong with medical stories. Liz Taylor had weeks to live three years ago and she went on Larry King to deny it, as did Ryan O’Neal who’s still alive and Farrah. PLEASE STOP QUOTING THE ENQUIRER. IT SUCKS!

  4. THIS IS A REALLY NASTY FORM OF CANCER…I TRULY HOPE HE BEATS IT…..PRAYERS….

  5. It is true – his publicist confirmed it.
This is a swift and fatal disease – I was so sad when I heard. I pray he beats this.

  6. You know how to prevent that – eat lots of garlic soup.

  7. My mother was diagnosed with pancreatic and liver cancer 3 months ago and is responding very well to treatment. She was given a few weeks to live and we’re planning our summer vacation.

  8. His publicist confirmed the disease but not the weeks to live. Check People.com for the story.

  9. My heart is broken because Patrick will not be able to beat this one. Prayers to Lisa and his family – may God bless you all, especially Patrick.
with love, a fan from way back in time.

  10. Yeah he only has a low amount of this disease – I read nowhere except this post that he has “weeks to live.” You need to get your stories straight…

  11. There is a form of Pancreatic cancer that is very treatable (it’s a very slow growing cancer). Otherwise PC is a death sentence for sure. I don’t know if PS has this type of curable cancer but the doctors are optimistic? PS most important has to be optimistic.

  12. Most people diagnosed with this don’t make it past six weeks

  13. It’s symptoms are mostly detected at the last stages. There is no reliable screening test for the early detection of pancreatic cancer.
Symptoms are often vague and easily confused with other diseases.

  14. He is very heavy into Buddhism, which is not a good thing. His wife introduced him to it.

  15. This is so personal, I can’t believe gossip columnists are pouncing on the story. Leave this man and his family alone and stop with the headlines and speculation. It’s nobody’s business!

  16. He is very heavy into Buddhism, which is not a good thing. His wife introduced him to it.

  17. Hello….Not a fan of Benny Hinn or Holy Rollers, etc. Just saying that no one prays to Buddha for healing. If there’s a chance he could be healed, it wouldn’t be thru Buddha. I totally understand your point and thanks for it.

  18. The slow growing cancer is called Insulinoma. It’s what my mother has, has had for 3 months, and is getting aggressive treatment for now. The treatments are working and shrinking the tumors. Modern medicine is awesome.
