JACK KERVORKIAN: WELCOME BACK, JACK!

kervorkiancut.jpgOne of our true American heroes was released from prison today and we are still appalled by the injustice of his having to spend eight years behind bars for being a brave, forward-thinking idealist. Dr. Jack Kervorkian, now 79, assisted in numerous suicides, but was sent to prison when he filmed himself helping a victim of Lou Gerhigs disease commit suicide. He feels people should have a choice and be in control of their own life and death. Certain religions don’t agree. He’ll be on probation for two years so he can’t partake in any more assisted suicides until that’s over. Unfortunately, this man probably won’t be recognized for his brilliance within his lifetime. We just want him to know that we’re glad to see him back.

Where IS the justice? This man puts his very life and freedom on the line to relieve others’ suffering. He does not benefit from any of this. He is nearly 80 years old and he spent 8 yrs. in jail!! Paris, Lindsay and Nicole-the Hollywood version of dumb, dumber and dumbest do hard street drugs and endanger innocent people and they get rewarded.

    Everyone dies.
    It is never pretty.
There are grey areas that will always make assisted suicide dangerous.

    GO JANET !!!!!!!!!
Thanks for posting this. I think he is an incredible man of excellent character and strength, and for him to allow someone the DIGNITY of dieing peacefully, instead of slowly wasting away, causing stress and financially draining families-the option of ending it all quickly.
There is a balance between sucicide and pulling the plug, as so many people do every day. He never should have been in jail…….All those Holly’hood MESSES out there like Paris, Nicole, Lindsay-JUSTICE NEEDS TO BE SERVED FAIRLY!!

We love Jack! And everyone who disagrees will change their tune on those grim days to come when they’re writhing on their death beds with no end/relief in sight.
Get your cyanide tabs ready now, kiddies.

if you want to die, go to hospice. they’ll do it legally.

There is still something creepy about this guy. People have the right to check out with dignity (it’s legal here in Oregon). It’s a shame that some have been forced to end life in the back of his old VW camper instead of at home.

He broke the law. It’s that simple. Jack could have used other means to legally fight and push for his cause. Instead, he flaunted the law. He asked for this.
But I see the idiot pot heads who read this blog would rather ignore the laws of the land.
And before you irrational morons go off, I am for legalized assisted suicide that is highly regulated. Jack the Jerkoff severely hurt the cause.

This man is no hero. He didn’t screen to be sure the people he helped die were really terminally ill. He helped kill a depressed woman. Instead of using painfree, peaceful methods to hasten death, he made a little death machine, which wasn’t always fast or painless. He HURT people, and set back the Right to Die movement because of his hunger for publicity. he put his need to be famous ahead of the right to die with dignity.

I am so sick and tired of people imposing their moral beliefs on the rest of us.
Dr. Kevorkian helped people make their OWN decisions.
Bravo Janet. You should be proud for defending him on your site.

To bad he didn’t die in jail. It would have been sweet justice to have die in prison with those “awesome” doctors

Kevorkian graduated in 1952 from the University of Michigan medical school, specializing in pathology. In 1970, he became the chief pathologist at Saratoga General Hospital in Detroit.
Early in his medical career, he showed a recurrent interest in the subject of death: In 1956, he published a journal article, “The Fundus Oculi and the Determination of Death”, about his attempt to photograph the eyes of patients at the moment of death–a paper that first won him the nickname “Doctor Death”. A paper he presented in December 1958 that advocated consensual experiments on convicts during executions led the University of Michigan to ask him to terminate his residency. A 1961 article in The American Journal of Clinical Pathology described his efforts to transfuse blood from dead bodies into living patients.

How sad that the value of life has been so diminished over the years. What’s to stop mentally ill patients or teenagers from calling a “Dr. Death” when they are depressed? Where does it stop? There is a real fine line here.

I for one am not in the least glad he is out of prison. The only thing I am “appalled” about is that he didn’t spend the rest of his life there. “Brave, forward-thinking idealist…” — please. Assisted-suicide is a very slippery slope.

He’s a murder for profit, and is as addicted to media exposure as Lohan. He likened himself to a vet putting an animal down. He is the animal.

KEVORKIAN IS A HERO AND THOSE OF YOU THAT CRAM THIS “LIFE AT ALL COSTS” IDEALISTIC MENTALITY NEED TO QUIT THINKING LIKE EMOTIONAL DO-GOODERS AND LET PEOPLE WHO WANT TO END IT ALL – DO SO. EVEN SEVERELY DEPRESSED PEOPLE DESERVE A PAINLESS OUT IF THEY WANT IT. THERE ARE WORSE THINGS THAN DEATH AND THAT IS TO BE FORCED TO “LIVE” AGAINST YOUR WILL. SLIPPERY SLOPE – DOUBTFUL. IT IS A MATTER OF PERSONAL CHOICE AND DIGNITY.
I DON’T WANT A-HOLES LIKE YOU TELLING ME I AM FORCED TO SUFFER TO THE VERY END OR HAVE TO GET DESPARATE AND JUMP OFF A BUILDING. THESE RIGHT TO LIFERS ANNOY AND DISGUST ME. I AM A PRACTICAL PERSON. IF YOU WANT TO “LIVE” AND WASTE AWAY TERMINALLY AND LOOSE YOUR BOWELS ETC… THAT IS YOUR CHOICE… BUT STAY THE F OUT OF MY BUSINESS. I’LL DIE WHEN I WANT TO.

Jack is ahead of his time. He is to be admired and respected. The ironic thing is people are killing themselves everyday with unhealthy choices – they smoke or eat fried foods… arrest them for that too you dumb asses.

As a severly depressed person – I know the stifeling HELL I have gone thru for years. Let me tell you. When you live biochemically challenged & handicapped with crippling greif all your life and for no diiscernable reason, suicide does not seem like a bad alternative from the hell depression puts you through. I have spent thousand on doctors etc… and medicine so do not write me challenging my experience. been there & done that. The one thing that keeps me going is KNOWING that if and when I decide I have had enough, I can do it. I am christian with absolutely no fear of death and I do not view death as a horrible thing. I do veiw imposing others who want to cease my choice to die as totally selfish and immature individuals who don’t know what they are talking about. Their intentions are good but they are selfish and unrealistic.

Pity the fools who disagree. These fools probably think the 9/11 Twin Towers jumpers committed suicide because they couldn’t stand the ghastly pain from the inferno.
Dr. K. stood his ground on 60 Minutes. (Tough living on $980 a month tho’).

I agree with you 100%. What a tragedy that a man assists people to stop the pain and suffering and he gets 8 years, EVIL!
