JACQUELINE BISSET: THE REAL THING

Jacqueline Bisset became the talk of the plastic surgery show Nip/Tuck because she has had NO work done! When she first joined the show everyone was impressed with her naturally beautiful looks. She’s had a long career in Hollywood, but despite considerable scrutiny , everyone agreed that she hasn’t had any nips or tucks. “She has a real face and it’s insanely beautiful” remarked a setsider. Maybe that ’s why she’s such a lighting expert. “Jackie KNOWS her lighting” said a crew member. “She takes charge and sweetly tells the gaffers exactly how to set up the lights and use filters for the most flattering effect in all her scenes. “

   She has always been very pretty. It’s nice to read about her again (rather than Britney, Paris, blah, blah, blah).

   While I’m glad to see that she’s looking good without surgery, I must confess that it’s a pet peeve of mine to read a reference to “gaffers” on set.
   There is ONE gaffer per shooting unit. He (or she) works with the Director of Photography to light the scene and is the head of the set lighting department.
   The people who move the lights around (my job) are called lamp operators or “juicers”.
   There are several juicers – a normal crew is three to five – but ONE gaffer.

   Jackie is a real beauty. She is also a wonderful actress. I always look forward to a movie or TV role she is in.
