JAMES BROWN : WE'D RATHER REMEMBER YOU UPRIGHT

We are horrified that James Brown might have inadvertantly started a tasteless trend. Everywhere we looked for the past few days – from online to newspapers to television – we have been greeted by pictures of dead James Brown lying in his casket. Whether we WANTED to see it or NOT! Tame celebrity shows including The Insider showed me, against my will, pictures of James Brown’s dead body.. Since when did it become okay to reveal deceased celebrities laid out in their caskets? At one time only The Enquirer would do such a tasteless thing. We’re sure that James, always fussy about his appearance, would NOT have appreciated this. We’re afraid James has opened he door to a parade of dead celebrities in the future.

   brilliant entertainer will be sadly missed. i grew up of course like everyone did listening to his music. i was not too long ago, thinking about james brown . maybe it was a omen or something. but rest in peace god fatther of soul.

    Death is a part of life! What was really horrible television was the taping of a hanged man. That was a killing and I did not wish to see as I am against the death penalty.I am Canadian..sorry. James Brown However.. If he didnt mind the viewing as his last wishes..then so be it..let the man have his last wishes..Infact by the 3rd or 4th viewing in his purple suit.. this deceased man looked amazing well and better than some of the live attendees!is that really DN from RHCP above my comment.     NOT ONLY WAS I GLAD TO SEE SADDAM HANGED, HIS COUNTRY NEEDED TO SEE IT FOR POLITICAL REASONS. OBVIOUSLY THE ABOVE POSTER HAS NEVER LIVED UNDER SUCH AN OPPRESSED AND EVIL REGIME AND IS NAIEVE AS HELL.
    AS FAR AS BROWN’S OPEN CASKET- WHAT’S THE BIG DEAL? DEATH IS A PART OF LIFE – LIKE BIRTH. NOT SOMETHING TO BE HIDDEN, BUT TO BE CELEBRATED.

    This is common in the black community.
    Obviously you have no experience with it.
    When Emmet Till was murdered decades ago, his mother had the press take photos of his beaten & broken body.
    And then there is this one. I still remember when a Chicago drug dealers son was murdered. He had the son buried in a coffin made up like a Cadillac & between each finger was a $100 bill. That picture was front page.
