Now HERE’S a personal mobility device that has potential! We’ve always thought the Segway was too big and clunky to ever be practical. Plus you have to stand up! Honda has developed this “electric unicycle” using technology developed through robotics research and it moves easily in all directions, just by leaning. It will be introduced at the Tokyo Motor Show in Japan on October 24. We do kinda wish that General Motors had come up with this.

  1. Yes, but with the Segway you had to large points in ground contact and a low center of gravity. Tough to get knocked around even in a crowd. This? One absentminded bump by a passerby and you’re eating concrete.

  2. I’LL RESERVE MY OPINION UNTIL AFTER IT ACTUALLY COMES OUT AND WE SEE WHAT HAPPENS, AND HOW WELL IT REALLY SELLS. JAPAN COULD USE IT FOR SURE WITH THEIR OVERCROWDED CITIES…(OOPS SORRY, DIDN’T REALIZE MY CAPS WERE ON!)

  3. Sorry, but it looks like an oversized vibrator to me. If a vibrator can ever be oversized.
