American Idol’s Jason Castro put up with a boatload of misery on a grueling airline flight last week and he never cracked a scowl. Journalist Sue Facter happened to be seated a few rows behind Jason on an American Airlines flight from Newark to LA, Tuesday night at 6:30. Flight attendants and passengers were aflutter at the sight of the exhausted Jason and he was “friendly and accommodating.” But he never got to nap. The flight was delayed for hours and finally everyone was sent to hotels. The next day he was bumped to coach and THAT flight made an emergency landing in Chicago for mechanical reasons. Hours later, passengers were complaining loudly as they were herded onto yet another plane. Jason was again bumped to coach and this flight had no pillows, blankets, and ran out of food! Passengers had to share their tiny sandwiches! Through it all, Sue says, Jason remained charismatic and sweet to everyone. It took three planes and 24 hours to get him to LA – and he was still smiling.

It is wonderful to have you confirm what so many of us believe about Jason; that he is an incredibly nice person. His attitude towards life is one that I admire and strive for even though I am thirty years older than him.

AI WERE FOOLS-they tried to destroy one of the most refreshing original contestants that AI ever had on stage
JASON is unique, talented, classy, humble-the more I read and see of him this week, the more I see a fantastic person–that has a very caring heart. PLUS he is georgous–does he ever take a bad photo?
I can not wait for his cd–he blow me away on AI–I love his original songs SO FAST and SOMEDAY.

Jason is a nice boy even though he practices the religion of the Rastafarians. He is very relaxed due to the very powerful BC hydroponic he consumes in his rituals. 4:20 Jake!

Nah, he’s bright enough…1340 on his SATs I heard. Sounds pretty bright to me.
He’s a great singer…and MAN enough to take the critcism of him with humor and dignity.

It seems that Jason either touches the heart and soul, as in those of us who “get” him, or touches a raw, exposed nerve as in those who can’t wait to hurl mud at him because the pain from his breath of fresh air is unbearable… so go ahead haters and spew forth your venom… it makes no difference to him or to us who know the truth…

You said it Becky! Jason is a wonderfull breath of fresh air that makes me proud to be in the same generation as him…goes to show that all of us kids born in the 80′s are not losers and spoiled brats. I always knew Jason was a total gentleman, so THANK YOU for proving me right yet again.
Not many people would handle this the way he did – with grace and patience.
Jason has absolutely no ego whatsoever, and clearly has not let being on Idol inflate his sense of self-worth.
To the haters who are posting negative comments – maybe you ought to take a good look at yourselves and strive to be more like Jason.

All I can say is that you can’t judge a book by its cover. When I saw Jason for the 1st time, I was taken back by the dreads but the moment I heard him strum Daydreaming Boy, I was hooked. I can only hope that my teenage daughters grow into such respectful adults as young Jason…his parents should be proud!! Jason has more class in his young years, than most adults twice (or more) his age. I’ll be spending my money to support him because he’s proven to me that hes a respectful and loving man. (I refuse to watch or listen to anything with Paris, Lindsay or Brittany…I’m not contributing to their downfall.
