This is a life-changing weekend for Jennifer Lawrence, 21, star of “The Hunger Games,“ which opens midnight Thursday. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the movie has already sold 15 million dollars worth of advance tickets and it might end up with one of the biggest debuts of all time – possible 130 to 140 million for the weekend! Jennifer Lawrence is hardly a household name – even though she was nominated for an Oscar for “Winter’s Bone” – because so few people saw the movie. After this weekend she’ll find out what it feels like to be “Twilight” star Kristen Stewart. No more alone time! Fans will be everywhere! Bodyguards are in her future… (Above, she promoted the movie on Letterman)

  1. Here we go with ANOTHER set of teenybopper crap shoved down our throats for years … wow … can’t WAIT!!

I will passionately pray for the day when it all falls into a bottomless well, along with the vampires and wizards that have been terrorizing our people with BRAINS for the last many years! GO AWAY! (And take Suri Cruise and all the other toddlers with you)!

  2. Reta, “passionately pray” ?? Good for you. 🙂 Have a seat and join us for a big watermelon slice.

  3. Oh may I join you for the prayer session?!

WHY let your kids get into a VERY violent, VERY graphic book about CHILD PRISONERS who have to KILL OTHER CHILD PRISONERS to stay alive?

CBC in Canada said the book is for ADULTS not kids! And here it’s rated PG-13 so any child over 13 can watch it alone! DISGRACEFUL AND DANGEROUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. Sorry, double post. But PLEASE pray that this movie gets banned and kids are given Black Beauty horse movies and safe, happy, positive art to love instead!

BAN negativity from your own childs life! Protect them from this society’s ugliness until they have a chance to be happy kids! They will thank you when they grow up with CONFIDENCE instead of FEAR.

  5. I think I’m with you “gogo”. Our children are subjected to too much sex, violence, etc. already.

I was quite shocked while watching TMZ last night, they said that the movie is about starving children killing each other. Really? It’s too bad because I was kind of getting excited about it. Oh well, guess we’ll just stay home and watch “Tintin”.

  6. I’ve actually read all the books. It’s about a post apocalyptic society where the U.S. is divided into Precints and there is a lot of hardship. The Hunger Games require 1 male and 1 female youth for each precinct to fight. Only one may survive and their precinct is rewarded for the next year with food. The Hunger Games are also broadcast nationwide (government controlled TV) and all must watch. It is extremely disturbing reading about children killing each other, I can’t imagine what the movie would be like. It is supposed to be a cautionary tale.

Jennifer Lawrence character causes change for the better.
