JEREMY PIVEN PLAYS A LEGENDARY RETAILER ON MASTERPIECE THEATER

For Jeremy Piven, there IS life after Entourage – in the form of Masterpiece Theater! He landed the leading role in the prestigious drama series “Mr Selfridge” and this is one we don’t want to miss. It’s about the flamboyant Wisconsin-born Harry Selfridge who started working at the posh Marshall Field & Company in Chicago at the turn of the century. He was a retail innovator and during a visit to London in 1906 he was not impressed with the British stores, so he built his own on Oxford Street. Brilliant merchandising and extensive advertising made his fancy store a huge success and he was responsible for such retail mantras as “The customer is always right.” Harry lost it all during the Great Depression and died broke, but his story is fascinating.

  1. A Jew can get any acting role they want. Whether talented or not. Look at ‘oscar nominated’ actor Jonah Hill for example.

  2. Miss Lynee
How terribly sad. Surely, you have nothing against those of the Jewish faith.

  3. Jeremy was hilarious as Ari Gold on Entourage, which got me hooked on the series. He just nailed the character.

  4. Sherry Lynee, I too cannot understand how Jonah Hill is at the level he is. I base this on looks and talent, rather lacking in both departments. I can’t believe Hollywood is so hard up?!

As for Piven, he just makes my skin crawl. He is someone I would never want to have anything to do with, I don’t like him.

  5. Check out the extra height on the heel of his shoe!! I bet there are lifts inside of it too!
