John Travolta who plays Edna Turnblad in the new movie Hairspray, is promoting the movie and doing lots of press interviews, but one network has been BANNED from talking to John. Travolta won’t talk to the BBC. He holds a grudge against the British network since they had the nerve to produce a documentary “Scientology & Me” that has been stirring up controversy. Apparently he considers it to be an unflattering portrait of his group. Early reviews of Hairspray are not so hot either.

travolta was TOLD the BBC is prejudiced against scientology and he simply following orders to not cooperate with the BBC to promote his project.
i read on another blog that there is some group of gays out there that are planning to boycott travolta’s rendition of hairspray because of $cientology’s views on homosexuality – that they can cure it– with vitamins vegetable oil and saunas and lie detector sessions? everybody has seen that juicy kiss travolta gave some man just before going on one of his fleet of airplanes.
I saw Hairspray on Broadway when it first opened and thought it was one of the worst musicals I’ve ever seen. So I’m not surprised by bad reviews.

scientology claims to be about ‘communication’,yet severing ties with anybody who asks too many questions is a common practise in this cult.
why can’t scientologists defend themselves against the accusations that they are in a cult?they are supposed to be the most able beings on the planet.they can’t handle questions.scientology HATES free speech!
He sucks and is a bad choice for this role and the movie is totally unnecessary. The 60s songs in the original John Waters’ film are much better than the musical’s.
I saw the musical live too and thought it was crap. The issue of segregation was turned into a happy, smiley song and dance number, instead of being an angry injustice that is effectively revealed to the protagonists in the original film. The musical trivialized the issue. Let’s hope they have altered this to be like the original film’s spirit for this version. If not, the film’s gonna suck, for sure.

No remake of the original with Divine and Ricki lake will ever compare. John looks bloated period. Hell Ms. Doubtfire looked better than him.

I wish Cruise, Travolta et al would wake up to the fact that they are there for Scientology, but Scientology is not there for them. With each dodgy film they release they become less and less bankable.

Those are Scientology’s own printed words, and Travolta supports Scientology.
