Allow us to introduce Johnny Depp’s stand-in and double for the Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End. His name is Barnett O’Hara and did HE get lucky. Texas born Barnett auditioned for a role as a pirate in the movie but when the producers saw him they immediately hired him as a double for Johnny. Besides being similar looking and the same size as Depp, Barnett is a perfect hand match for Johnny. Whenever they had a closeup of Johnny’s character Jack Sparrow holding something in his hand, Barnett put on Johnny’s rings and jewelry and did the shot. He also did a lot of distance shots and back of head shots. When Barnett wasn’t appearing as Jack Sparrow, he was another pirate on deck so he’s in a lot of the movie. Barnett was totally flattered to even be remotely compared to Johnny, but we think he’s really cute as himself.
He looks cuter than Johnny. At least in that picture he does.

What? Depp was in the movie only 1/2 the time? That’s really f#$%^! up. Did this look alike get paid as well? Most likely not..what an unbelievable industry.

Leave Johnny Depp alone ! The man is the finest actor of our time !!! AND one of the Finest Looking. If someone else can do a hand shot for him, so be it. Lucky break for this guy.

What does he need a stand-in for except for stunts?
Do we actually see Depp any of the time?
Hand doubles are used for extreme close-up shots so camera setups don’t have to be changed, or re-lit. You don’t just spin the camera around and zoom in on the hands.
2nd or 3rd unit directors take care of this stuff. It let’s the director use the money talent more effectively and reduces the
time the big money talent has to be on set. And it gives some other guy a nice job.

There’s nothing wrong with Johnny’s hands. They use hand-doubles so Johnny doesn’t have to show up for every tiniest bit of filming. No use in getting him on set (re: time and money) if some other guy can do those bits.

I don’t like to be cinical but Mr. Depp gets paid $20,000,0000 and someone else does the work. I suppose he gets paid for the use of his name. Good gig if you can get it.
Am I the only one who thinks the young guy looks like Elizabeth Perkins? I mean…from a distance I can see where he might look like Johnny/Jack, but…sorry…for me, nobody compares!

He wasn’t the photodouble. Ron Rodriguez and David M. were the doubles. I don’t know who this guy is but he is not telling the truth.
First of all I think Depp should be thanking Barnett for the compliment….Secondly I think the kid is more of a Keanu look alike than anyone else….
