When The Sex Pistols hit the charts in the UK in the 70’s, they were described as “the biggest threat to our youth since Hitler.” Nowadays, Johnny Rotten (John Lydon) is living close to the beach in Venice, California and his is a tamer more mundane life, riding his bicycle around the neighborhood. His longtime wife Nora Forster does the driving in the family. Nora’s punk rocker daughter Arianna passed away last year and now Johnny and his wife are raising her three kids. Yes, Johnny Rotten is going to PTA meetings. He may be more of a homebody than a rebel these days, but he still has that orange hair.

He and Nora raised Ari’s three boys from birth, basically. John knows NOTHING about suffering. His parents are still married and raised him with love and money, then he married a woman whose wealth is not far from that of scions of Berlosconi or Murdoch. Lydon’s never even been close to homelessness or poverty. And his jealousy of Green Day is pathetic. Still, I loved his work with the Pistols and PiL.
I’ve heard him interviewed many times over the years and always found him interesting and quirky and I understand the generational pull and fight. He’s very intelligent and entertaining and not afraid to speak his mind which I admire in him and others.
